Sprung Edge Divan. . . .


A Sprung Edge Divan is the term used to describe a Divan base with a built in Spring Unit on the surface. This Spring Unit can be as varied in tension as a mattress itself. The idea is that the base can offer an additional layer of comfort and support.

The image below shows how this technique has been perfected over the years. A layer of Springs (usually Open Coil) is added and fixed to the surface of the base. This spring unit will have a noticeable effect on the overall tension of the bed. A Sprung Edge Divan will make the bed softer.

As can be seen in the image below, the Sprung Edge base can still offer drawer space and will normally result in a slightly higher base height.

Divan bases can also feature a Platform Top/Solid Base.
