Zip and Link mattresses are essentially two mattresses joined by a Zip. This is usually an option for mattresses in a Kingsize or Super Kingsize. The image below shows a mattress joined by Zip and Link. The Zip is set under the surface of the mattress (to avoid irritation on the sleeping surface). The surface quilt is designed to create a surface spanning the entire width of the mattress, not leaving a gap and at no point exposing the Zip itself.

Zip and Link mattresses exist for various reasons. Some houses will not have access to the bedroom large enough for a Kingsize or Super Kingsize mattress, therefore splitting the two mattresses and rejoining them in the room may be the only option. Another reason may be that two tensions (firmnesses) of mattress are required. Some brands will allow two different tensions of mattresses to be joined by Zip and Link, therefore offering a couple their own desired tensions without compromise.

Zip and Link mattresses are not shown on our site as a standard option, but we can offer Zip and Link on almost all mattresses and the price will be the same as the Super Kingsize (6') price.
