A Hypnos purple bed and mattress

According to a 2012 study, 67% of Britons struggle to sleep properly because of body discomfort. Of course, there’s no way to tell if this is due to a poor quality mattress, but it’s certainly a contributing factor.

Every year, countless people contend with worn and ageing mattresses or invest in below-par products that can't possibly meet their needs.

Investing in a great quality mattress is a must if one is to sleep soundly in comfort for years. The wide variety of mattresses available makes things a little trickier than you might think, but leading the pack when it comes to superior quality is Hypnos.

Hypnos has been manufacturing beds for a long time. During this period they’ve supplied products to big names and gained an international reputation for their innovative products.

The research and development that Hypnos puts into their work is fascinating and revolves around using the science of sleep to create the best products and perhaps in order to answer the question, ‘should I buy a Hypnos bed?’ It’s worth getting a good understanding of the companies approach to the manufacturing process.

Spring Technology

The new Hypnos springs have been specifically designed to serve the dual function of providing comfort and support. Hypnos UltraSens and ReActive spring units contain springs that are longer and wider than those used in standard mattress manufacturing. This means that although there are fewer in the mattress, they work much harder.

The pocket-sprung Hypnos ReActive mattress offers increased support due to heat treatments which increase the pressure under which the springs operate. To adjust the firmness of each mattress, Hypnos alters the gauge of the springs so they can offer models to suit every taste and sleeping style.

The UltraSens mattress takes this innovation a step further. Hypnos has identified seventeen specific pressure zones and the springs used in the UltraSens have a softer top and bottom which Hypnos say gives this mattress model a superior luxury feel. Because Hypnos beds are custom-made, these higher end mattresses can be zoned for further support.

Over time, some mattresses lose their shape and support which means they no longer offer the same kind of support they once did. But, because of this unique spring system, this is not a problem with a Hypnos mattress.

Solid Reliability

While this spring system is the latest in technological advancement, there are many traditional elements to a Hypnos mattress as well. Mattress fillings vary, but all of them contain lambs’ wool, which is well known for its softness and quality. Hypnos takes their environmental responsibilities very seriously and use natural materials such as cashmere and alpaca wool, whenever possible.

In addition to being hypo-allergenic, Hypnos mattresses are often infused with bamboo to aid heat and moisture control. This is particularly important because it means the springs and filling materials are protected, increasing their life cycle.

With more folks taking an interest in sleep, science and the technology that can deliver an improved night’s sleep, there’s plenty to be learnt from the techniques used in the manufacture of Hypnos products.

Ongoing Quality Assurance

Hypnos as a brand takes its commitment to ongoing quality very seriously. This is precisely why Hypnos has remained a brand leader for so long.

Because Hypnos makes beds and mattresses, they are able to use the specifications from their beds to manufacture mattresses that perfectly complement their bed range and provide customers with an excellent sleeping experience each and every night.

Over a Century of Experience

Hypnos have over a hundred years of experience in conceiving and building beds and mattresses of incredible quality. This enduring legacy means that the company understand their customers and exactly what they need from their beds and mattresses, but crucially due to their consistent innovative methodology they learn what doesn’t work and this perhaps the most important aspect of their approach.

Royally Approved

Hypnos Q&A…

‘How Do I Choose the Correct Bed For My Needs?’

The average person spends about a third of their life in bed, so it's absolutely crucial you buy the right product for your needs.

At MyNextMattress, we offer a 14-day sleep trial for all of our Hypnos products, so you can be certain that the product you’ve chosen is the right one for you.

If you share a bed with a partner it’s crucial to remember that what suits one, may not suit the other, so our trial is the ideal time to decide whether you’re both happy with it.

If not, just let us know, we’ll collect the product and refund your money. Simple as that.

Is It Possible to Buy A Hypnos Mattress For Use on My Current Divan?’

The Sleep Council advise that you purchase a divan and mattress together because Hypnos manufacture beds with their range of mattresses in mind.

It’s important not to use a new mattress on an old divan or bedstead which uses a sprung-system – an older base with a tired sprung-system will dramatically reduce your level of support and place a lot of strain on the new mattress, which could result in premature deterioration.

'Can I Buy a Hypnos Hotel Bed At MyNextMattress?’

Hypnos beds are found across the globe in residential homes, hotels and even on cruise liners.

Whilst the exact beds found in hotels aren't available, we stock a range of beds and mattresses that match up to the hotel specifications. Contact us and we can help you decide what products suit you best.

‘How Often Should I Replace My Mattress?’

The Sleep Council advises that a bed should be purchased every seven years, but a strong, durable model can last much longer.

It is recommended that mattresses are replaced every seven years, but the same logic must be applied – if it is still comfortable, then there’s no need to trade up.

However, it’s incredibly important to regularly clean your mattress as we lose over 280ml of fluid every night and shed over 400 grams of dead skin each year, which is an absolute haven for dust mites.

Hypnos is one of the world’s most impressive brands for a reason, and we’re proud to stock a range of their products here at MyNextMattress. Our passion for ensuring that all of our customers purchase the right products goes hand-in-hand with Hypnos’ relentless quest for ensuring that their products are perfected to the tiniest detail.
