The Hypnos Hadlow Mattress is a new addition from Hypnos. This excellent new mattress highlights the development that keeps going into Hypnos mattresses, whilst also underlines the pedigree and experience that Hypos has to offer. This new mattress offers some simply stunning benefits, as well as excellent support and comfort.
Hypnos has built this mattress around a Pocket Spring unit. Unlike conventional springs a Pocket Spring is sat within its own fabric 'pocket' and will not interfere with its neighbouring springs. The result of this is that the support offered is very accurate indeed. As each spring is compressed, it will move up and down like a piston. Hypnos' springs are a step forward still. Their ReActive springs actually get firmer as more weight is applied, so they're able to offer the precise level of firmness needed. This mattress has the 8 Turn system, meaning it recognises 8 different levels of firmness. The Hadlow mattress also features an extra layer of Adaptiv™ comfort springs, a slightly softer spring on top of their normal springs for a final flourish of luxury.
The Hypnos Hadlow mattress boasts the newly evolved ReActive spring unit, known as the ReActivePro, offering a reinforced perimeter to the mattress, meaning you can sleep right up to the edge without the mattress dipping at all! The sidewalls of this mattress are as strong as anything we've seen.
Hypnos has made the Hadlow mattress a turnable mattress with fillings hand-applied on both sleeping surfaces. The fillings used in this mattress are deep and luxurious. The Wool Origins collection features generous layers of traceable wool. In fact, this seasonal turn mattress has over 8 fleeces of pure wool per mattress. This mattress also has layers of hand-applied Cotton, also from sustainable sources, which add to the sumptuous feel of the mattress. Thanks to Hypnos' new association with the Red Tractor the wool can be traced right back to the original origin, to the precise flock of sheep!
This is a tufted mattress with cords passed right through the mattress to ensure a precise firmness is offered as well as preventing the layers of fillings from moving around over time. The Hadlow mattress also has breather vents, flag-stitched handles and they've backed this new mattress with a full 10-year guarantee.

- Active Turns (Hypnos)
The Hypnos Spring Unit is a special design. With a conventional spring, a continued application of pressure will compress the spring completely. With a Hypnos spring, you can apply a certain amount of pressure and collapse the spring only so far, you have to apply more pressure to compress the spring further.
This gradual and progressive response from the spring allows for perfect support - not too firm, not too soft. The spring has been treated with various thresholds throughout, known as Active Turns, and it is these Active Turns that allow for the perfect amount of support.

- Guarantee (Hypnos)
The Hypnos Guarantee extends for a Decade. Your new Hypnos mattress or base will have a leaflet with more information, as well as a form to be completed and sent to Hypnos directly.
- Pocket Sprung
Pocket Sprung units are an adaption of the traditional open coil/continuous spring unit. By placing each spring in its own individual 'pocket' (a fabric sock-like pouch), the spring is not joined to any other part of the mattress. The pocket that supports the spring is then joined to its neighbouring pockets and this effect creates a unique feel.
By creating a spring unit in this way, it allows the springs to move independently, rather than sharing the pressure with surrounding springs. This effect allows for much more accurate contour following and a more comfortable feel overall.
If you were to push your hand into a traditionally sprung mattress, the area around your hand would dip/sink too. With Pocket Springs, this sunken area is much more remote and therefore more accurately follows the contours of the pressure source. There are differences in the techniques used to create Pocket Springs, but more or less they remain the same. - Turn / No Turn
Some mattresses require turning over, to aid even settlement. Others do not require turning, but will still require rotating.
- Turns (Hypnos)
This relates to the ReActive and UltraSens spring units. The term Turn is the number of points that the spring has been heat treated, therefore the number of pressure thresholds it can respond to.
