The Hypnos Avon Supreme is part of the Heritage Collection from Hypnos, an excellent range of beds that is among the best selling Hypnos mattresses of all time. The Avon model is one of our most popular, and it is easy to see why. This hand made mattress is built to the exacting standards that has lead Hypnos to become a famous brand, not only in the UK, but Worldwide, standing for quality and durability.
The Minerva Avon mattress is a Pocket Sprung mattress, featuring natural fillings of Briitsh Lambs Wool and also Cotton. The Pocket Springs at the core of this Hypnos mattress are designed to support the body perfectly. As more weight is applied, they compress slightly more and become firmer and firmer. The result of this is that the springs offer more support for the areas of your body that will require it (the hips and lumbar region, for example). This is the true definition of Orthopaedic, and it's something all Hypnos mattresses do.
On top of the Pocket Spring unit is a deep, deep layer of natural fillings. These fillings are applied by hand, which ensures they are even and consistent across the surface. This process takes time and a lot of skill, but Hypnos' approach to the Avon Supreme mattress, and all their beds, is to apply that extra bit of attention to detail to ensure their beds are of the highest standards. The Avon has a deep layer of Cotton, and also a deep layer of British Lambs Wool. These two natural fillings compliment each other perfectly and ensure a wonderfully comfortable feel. Furthermore; these fillings are breathable and anti-dustmite.
Hypnos have used the luxury Belgian damask material on this mattress. A World renowned source of high quality mattress covers, the Belgian Damask cover is as tactile as it is durable. This mattress also has breather vents and handles for easy movement when required.

Glossary
- Guarantee (Hypnos)
The Hypnos Guarantee extends for a Decade. Your new Hypnos mattress or base will have a leaflet with more information, as well as a form to be completed and sent to Hypnos directly.
- Pocket Sprung
Pocket Sprung units are an adaption of the traditional open coil/continuous spring unit. By placing each spring in its own individual 'pocket' (a fabric sock-like pouch), the spring is not joined to any other part of the mattress. The pocket that supports the spring is then joined to its neighbouring pockets and this effect creates a unique feel.
By creating a spring unit in this way, it allows the springs to move independently, rather than sharing the pressure with surrounding springs. This effect allows for much more accurate contour following and a more comfortable feel overall.
If you were to push your hand into a traditionally sprung mattress, the area around your hand would dip/sink too. With Pocket Springs, this sunken area is much more remote and therefore more accurately follows the contours of the pressure source. There are differences in the techniques used to create Pocket Springs, but more or less they remain the same. - ReActive (Hypnos)

This relates to the ReActive and UltraSens spring units. The term Turn is the number of points that the spring has been heat treated, therefore the number of pressure thresholds it can respond to.
