    Product Description

    DISCONTINUED

As part of the all new Rest Assured collection, the Genoa benefits from the latest materials, the latest machinery and is even made in a brand new facility. Rest Assured have created a range of beds that offer excellent value for money, and this 800 Pocket Sprung model is no exception.

The Genoa is the Sister mattress to the Savona mattress, the only difference being that this Genoa mattress is Tufted, making it slightly firmer than the Savona. This Rest Assured mattress boasts natural filings, which are hypo-allergenic and durable. The cover material is beautiful and luxurious.

The Genoa is designed for those wanting a firm and supportive mattress, but without compromising on comfort. The deep layer of natural fillings are bound in place by the hand tufting process, ensuring increased durability and a slightly firmer surface layer.

The 800 Pocket Springs all work individually to provide the very best support they can. By working on their own, when weight is applied they do not affect the surrounding springs, which results in a very accurate and efficient method of transferring body weight. The end result of a good spring unit is perfect posture, something that prevents painful Pressure points from developing (normally in the lower back or shoulder region).

The base is made to high standards too, just as you would expect from Rest Assured and is equally as durable as the Tivoli mattress it supports. The Divan base of this Rest Assured bed is available in a range of combinations, and we deliver all to the room of choice, and unpack for you.

    Glossary

    • Fibre Most mattresses will have layers of fillings under the surface to increase comfort and separate the spring units from the surface. The most common fillings used in mattresses are cotton, wool and polyester among others. Mattresses require fillings to create a soft surface tension on which to sleep. The fillings normally compliment the internal spring unit by adding comfort to the support offered (by the spring unit) The tension of the surface fillings can be tuned by the density in which they are packed as well as by the method in which they are bound together. Tufting results in a slightly firmer feel than quilting.
    • Firmness

MyNextMattress is developing a new and unique solution to the Firmness scale accuracy. Not seen anywhere else in the World, we will be measuring the Firmness of all our mattresses precisely and in detail.

We are the only company in the Country that will actually measure the Firmness of a mattress and give a grading out of 10. We are always aware that choosing your next mattress can be a difficult and time consuming process, therefore we strive to give as much information as possible on every mattress we sell.

The way our system works is by applying weight to a mattress. We will apply weight gradually and measure the amount the mattress dips. The more weight, the more the mattress will 'sink'. We would then measure the distance the mattress dips and plot these measurements (weight and distance) on a graph. This graph can then be used to tell us the Firmness category the mattress fits into, 7 out of 10 for instance.

Our Firmness Device provides a central rod which we apply weights to, on the bottom end there is a disc which pushes into the mattress. The top of this rod supports the weights and will sink according to the 'give' in a mattress. We measure from this point.

As a result of this unique technique, it will be possible for you to shop by the firmness of a mattress, this is not possible anywhere else.

    • Pocket Sprung

Pocket Sprung units are an adaption of the traditional open coil/continuous spring unit. By placing each spring in its own individual 'pocket' (a fabric sock-like pouch), the spring is not joined to any other part of the mattress. The pocket that supports the spring is then joined to its neighbouring pockets and this effect creates a unique feel.

By creating a spring unit in this way, it allows the springs to move independently, rather than sharing the pressure with surrounding springs. This effect allows for much more accurate contour following and a more comfortable feel overall.

If you were to push your hand into a traditionally sprung mattress, the area around your hand would dip/sink too. With Pocket Springs, this sunken area is much more remote and therefore more accurately follows the contours of the pressure source. There are differences in the techniques used to create Pocket Springs, but more or less they remain the same.

    • Tufted

Tufting is a traditional and highly successful way of finishing a mattress surface. The end result makes the mattress appear to have dimples, or buttons dipping into the surface. This technique is designed to hold the surface materials together and to fix them to the core of the mattress to prevent the layers moving over time. A modern method is Spiral Tufting, which involves fixing the surface to the fillings and spring unit.

The actual tuft is usually made from a cotton felt material and is fastened by a cotton or wool chord to the spring unit, in most cases. A tufted mattress will normally have a firmer surface than a non-tufted/quilted surface. The reason for this is that the Tufting process actually holds the surface material and underlying fibre layers tightly together. This will create a tighter, firmer feel than a quilted mattress.
