Product Description
The all-new Rest Assured Pocket Ortho bed is a fantastically good value for money. This Orthopaedic support mattress is designed to offer support to hold the body in perfect posture throughout the night, preventing painful pressure points from forming (usually in the lower back) and ensuring a deep and restful nights sleep.
This Pocket Sprung mattress is ideal for those who prefer a firmer feeling bed, packed full of natural fillings and designed to stand the test of time. The Pocket Ortho is part of the new collection and is already proving a very popular Ortho model.
This Rest Assured mattress boasts a wonderfully efficient and responsive 800 Pocket Spring unit, made from a heavy gauge wire to create the firmer feel. Each Spring is wrapped in it's own individual pocket, ensuring individual and precise support. With other spring systems, movement of one spring can affect the surrounding springs, reducing the efficiency of the support on offer. This Ortho mattress is excellent at giving great support for all body shapes and sizes.
The Pocket Ortho has natural fillings, which include British Wool, Cotton and White Fibres. These fabrics are great for ensuring a comfortable nights sleep, but they also act to compress where required, instantly. This effect boosts the orthopaedic nature of the bed and compliments the support on offer. The fibre fillings used in this mattress are applied by hand and are bound in place by the Hand Tufting process, which ensures a particular firmness is achieved and maintained throughout the lifespan of the bed.The cover material is part of the new generation of fabrics used by Rest Assured. This cover is incredibly soft and tactile, but it also breathable and able to prevent dust mites from thriving on its surface. The fabric is not only silky smooth, but completely breathable too, and has been naturally treated to prevent mould from developing - without chemicals.
This excellent addition to the Rest Assured range is delivered quickly and completely free of charge.

Glossary
- Pocket Sprung
Pocket Sprung units are an adaption of the traditional open coil/continuous spring unit. By placing each spring in its own individual 'pocket' (a fabric sock-like pouch), the spring is not joined to any other part of the mattress. The pocket that supports the spring is then joined to its neighbouring pockets and this effect creates a unique feel.
By creating a spring unit in this way, it allows the springs to move independently, rather than sharing the pressure with surrounding springs. This effect allows for much more accurate contour following and a more comfortable feel overall.
If you were to push your hand into a traditionally sprung mattress, the area around your hand would dip/sink too. With Pocket Springs, this sunken area is much more remote and therefore more accurately follows the contours of the pressure source. There are differences in the techniques used to create Pocket Springs, but more or less they remain the same. - Sizes

- Tufted
Tufting is a traditional and highly successful way of finishing a mattress surface. The end result makes the mattress appear to have dimples, or buttons dipping into the surface. This technique is designed to hold the surface materials together and to fix them to the core of the mattress to prevent the layers moving over time. A modern method is Spiral Tufting, which involves fixing the surface to the fillings and spring unit.
The actual tuft is usually made from a cotton felt material and is fastened by a cotton or wool chord to the spring unit, in most cases. A tufted mattress will normally have a firmer surface than a non-tufted/quilted surface. The reason for this is that the Tufting process actually holds the surface material and underlying fibre layers tightly together. This will create a tighter, firmer feel than a quilted mattress.
