The Sealy Activsleep Ortho Posture mattress is a Pillow Top mattress that is designed to offer support, comfort and durability. This mattress is introduced thanks to the very latest research and development carried out by Sealy, the World's biggest bed brand. Sealy have worked hard with scientists and health professionals from around the World to introduce a range of beds (the ActivSleep Collection) that not only offer a comfortable and supportive night's sleep, but also enhance the quality of sleep, promoting recuperation and regeneration within the body.
The ActivSleep Ortho Posture pillow top mattress is built from nothing but the finest materials and using the latest technology. This mattress boasts the PostureTech Core Support (CS) spring system, which is designed to offer a comfortable feel but will actually get firmer and more supportive as more and more weight is applied. This results in the body getting the exact amount of orthopaedic support required, exactly where and when it is required. A truly orthopaedic mattress, without compromising on the comfort.
Sealy have concentrated on applying modern technological advances to the ActivSleep range, and this mattress is no different. Sealy has applied the Purotex microcapsules to the bed, releasing friendly bacteria throughout the night, cleaning allergens and reducing humidity. The outcome is a fresh, clean and deep sleep inducing mattress that will have you awake refreshed and rejuvenated.
Another aspect of this mattress that has been focussed on is the temperature and heat management. Sleep is very much affected by heat, and so Sealy have built this mattress to be capable of managing the temperature, keeping it at a comfortable level and thus enhancing sleep quality. Sealy have finished this mattress in their Adaptive fabric, which ensures you have a cool and comfortable night's sleep.
This is a no-turn mattress, only requiring rotating once per Season (although we recommend this is done more often in the early stages of the mattresses life).

Glossary
- Pocket Sprung
Pocket Sprung units are an adaption of the traditional open coil/continuous spring unit. By placing each spring in its own individual 'pocket' (a fabric sock-like pouch), the spring is not joined to any other part of the mattress. The pocket that supports the spring is then joined to its neighbouring pockets and this effect creates a unique feel.
By creating a spring unit in this way, it allows the springs to move independently, rather than sharing the pressure with surrounding springs. This effect allows for much more accurate contour following and a more comfortable feel overall.
If you were to push your hand into a traditionally sprung mattress, the area around your hand would dip/sink too. With Pocket Springs, this sunken area is much more remote and therefore more accurately follows the contours of the pressure source. There are differences in the techniques used to create Pocket Springs, but more or less they remain the same.
