Product Description

THIS ITEM IS NOW SOLD OUT!

The Sealy Palatine is part of the renowned Sealy Pocket Collection. The mattress is designed to offer a medium to soft feel, great support and luxurious comfort. This 2500 pocket spring mattress is at the very top of the Sealy range, and rightly so.

The Palatine boasts a 2500 double layer of pocket springs which is then topped with natural Latex. This combination works wonderfully and provides both perfect support and supreme luxury.

The Sealy Palatine has two layers of springs. The top layer is a layer of 1200 mini motion pocket springs, slightly smaller in size than the larger foundation layer of springs underneath. The top layer is designed to provide added comfort where you need it most. The foundation layer of springs comprises of larger pocket springs, which are designed to provide a zoned level of support. These two layers combine to provide a very comfortable, durable and finely tuned spring system.

On top of the excellent Sealy spring unit, there is luxurious, natural Latex. Latex does not require heat to soften and mould to the body's contours (as Memory Foam does), and therefore remains at a comfortable temperature at all times. Latex is also responsive to your body shape and conforms to the body's contours for perfect pressure relief and superior comfort.

The cover of the Sealy Palatine is quilted with stretch knit fabric that is silky smooth and wonderfully tactile. Nestled in the fabric of the mattress is Tencel, an eco-fibre that aims to maintain a comfortable heat and moisture level at all times. Combined with Purotex, the mattress is designed to feel clean, fresh and odour free- so that over time your mattress feels just as good as the day you placed it in your home. Purotex fibres are also endorsed by Allergy UK for their ability to prevent the build-up of dust mites and allergens. Last but not least, Adaptive technology absorbs moisture to regulate your temperature and keep you cool.

This Sealy mattress is a non-turn mattress for easy care but does have handles for easy movement when required. The Palatine 2500 Pocket mattress has a guarantee of 5 years as standard.

Who Is This Mattress Best Suited For?

As this is a non-turn mattress, it is perfect for those who want low maintenance or are physically unable to lift the mattress over. Remember, we do all the lifting and unpacking when we deliver to you!

    Sealy Palatine 2500
We purchased our mattress in January and we are delighted.
This Sealy mattress is the best mattress we have ever had and we have been married for 50 years.
It is supportive without being hard so there are no pressure spots.
We recommended this mattress to our friends and suggested they buy from My next Mattress, they did and are also delighted.

    Best thing we've ever purchased
Does exactly what we wanted. Quite heavy though, so it's a good job it does not need flipping over! Special thanks to the delivery drivers who managed to get it into the room and unpacked with ease!

Glossary

  • Firmness

MyNextMattress is developing a new and unique solution to the Firmness scale accuracy. Not seen anywhere else in the World, we will be measuring the Firmness of all our mattresses precisely and in detail.

We are the only company in the Country that will actually measure the Firmness of a mattress and give a grading out of 10. We are always aware that choosing your next mattress can be a difficult and time consuming process, therefore we strive to give as much information as possible on every mattress we sell.

The way our system works is by applying weight to a mattress. We will apply weight gradually and measure the amount the mattress dips. The more weight, the more the mattress will 'sink'. We would then measure the distance the mattress dips and plot these measurements (weight and distance) on a graph. This graph can then be used to tell us the Firmness category the mattress fits into, 7 out of 10 for instance.

Our Firmness Device provides a central rod which we apply weights to, on the bottom end there is a disc which pushes into the mattress. The top of this rod supports the weights and will sink according to the 'give' in a mattress. We measure from this point.

As a result of this unique technique, it will be possible for you to shop by the firmness of a mattress, this is not possible anywhere else.

  • Foam Encapsulation

Foam Encapsulation is a recent addition to the bedding market. An idea designed to offer greater edge-to-edge support as well offering greater Bedstead/Slatted base compatibility.

The idea is simple; Create a spring unit and then sit it in a 'matchbox' of Foam. As you can see in the diagram below, the spring unit is surrounded on all sides by a layer of Memory Foam. This foam gives a solid, stable feel to the mattress and allows the spring unit to be completely separated from the mattresses fillings and cushion.

Once the spring unit is set in the foam and the foam glued together, it can be surrounded by fillings and fibre to create the traditional look for a mattress or can be given a Pillow Top for even more comfort.

  • Latex

Latex is the ultimate in luxurious natural materials (but can be synthetic in other markets). Latex is actually found in more than 10% of flowering plants around the world. About 20,000 species from more than 40 families. The Latex used in the bedding industry is taken from sustainable sources. Latex is perfect for mattresses because it is soft, hypoallergenic, natural and moulds to the shape of the body.

Latex used in bedding also tends to be treated in such a way that it can be used by people who have Latex allergies! The technique used is to super heat the Latex unit, freeze it, super heat it and freeze it again. Once this process is complete, the harmful chemicals released can be chemically washed off, leaving it suitable for everyone. Latex is the material Memory Foam has tried to copy. Memory foam  requires heat to mould to the shape of your body and can therefore become too warm for some. Latex does not require heat and is soft at any temperature. As a natural material which requires time and various processes to be extracted, Latex can be more expensive that its rival materials, but the comfort levels achieved are well worth it.

  • Pocket Sprung

Pocket Sprung units are an adaption of the traditional open coil/continuous spring unit. By placing each spring in its own individual 'pocket' (a fabric sock-like pouch), the spring is not joined to any other part of the mattress. The pocket that supports the spring is then joined to its neighbouring pockets and this effect creates a unique feel.

By creating a spring unit in this way, it allows the springs to move independently, rather than sharing the pressure with surrounding springs. This effect allows for much more accurate contour following and a more comfortable feel overall.

If you were to push your hand into a traditionally sprung mattress, the area around your hand would dip/sink too. With Pocket Springs, this sunken area is much more remote and therefore more accurately follows the contours of the pressure source. There are differences in the techniques used to create Pocket Springs, but more or less they remain the same.
