For a limited time only, we are offering a 60 Night Sleep Trial on Sleepeezee mattresses!
This promotion is for Sleepeezee mattresses only, and the trial will start from the day after your delivery. You can read more about our sleep trial by clicking here.

This Sleepeezee mattress is one of the finest examples of the value for money that Sleepeezee can offer. As holders of the Royal Warrant, Sleepeezee are famous for the quality of their products, using the best materials and skilled craftsmen and women. This mattress boasts all the excellent details that comprise to offer a great bed, but also has the price tag of a much more basic specification.

With 2000 Pocket Springs and a deep layer of natural fillings, Sleepeezee Backcare Ultimate mattress is designed to offer an extra firm feel. The springs move independently to support the body exactly where it is required, rather than sharing the weight across the spring system, as other mattresses do, compromising the support and comfort.

As well as a great, high spring count system at the core of this mattress, there is a deep layer of natural fillings. The fillings include Wool and luxurious Cashmere. These fillings are not only incredibly comfortable and completely natural, but they allow the mattress to breathe, ensuring it will remain cool and comfortable throughout the night, and throughout the mattresses long life span. There are also chrome breather vents for further ventilation.

The surface layers of luxurious fillings are bound in place to ensure they remain at a certain tension and also to ensure they remain in place, not moving around and causing an inconsistent feel to the mattress. This binding process is called Tufting, and is completed by a skilled member of production, fixing a chord through the mattress and strengthening the mattress overall.

There are handles on the sides for easy movement, although this is a no-turn mattress* and there are 4 rows of side stitched bordering. These stitched rows strengthen the side walls of the mattress, increasing the sleeping surface area and further increasing the lifespan of the mattress.

* The Backcare Ultimate mattress will require rotating, but not turning. We recommend this is done once per season, but more often in the first few months after delivery.

Glossary

  • Pocket Sprung

Pocket Sprung units are an adaption of the traditional open coil/continuous spring unit. By placing each spring in its own individual 'pocket' (a fabric sock-like pouch), the spring is not joined to any other part of the mattress. The pocket that supports the spring is then joined to its neighbouring pockets and this effect creates a unique feel.

By creating a spring unit in this way, it allows the springs to move independently, rather than sharing the pressure with surrounding springs. This effect allows for much more accurate contour following and a more comfortable feel overall.

If you were to push your hand into a traditionally sprung mattress, the area around your hand would dip/sink too. With Pocket Springs, this sunken area is much more remote and therefore more accurately follows the contours of the pressure source. There are differences in the techniques used to create Pocket Springs, but more or less they remain the same.

  • Pressure Points

Pressure Points are created in the body when lying on a mattress which is not suitable for a persons physique. The Pressure Points are caused by putting stresses through the body. When the spine is not aligned correctly (i.e, straight), it can cause pressure to build up in the back, hips or shoulders (etc).

When a bed is too soft, the body sinks in, causing certain areas to be under the strain of the rest of the body. When a mattress is too hard/firm, then the weight applied can cause the body to flex/bend in the opposite way - causing a similar problem. Hips, shoulders and so on, are requried to be sunken into the mattress slightly more than the surrounding areas, as they carry the weight. When this is not the case, the lower back may be bent to compensate. The ideal mattress is one which will keep the spine straight.

  • Side Stitched

Side Stitching is the way in which the side of a mattress is finished. A traditional process, the Side Stitching technique applied by many high-end companies, is a highly-skilled profession and takes time and a great deal of experience to perfect. The technique involves passing a needle through the side of a mattress right the way through to the horizontal surfaces for additional strength and stability. This technique is normally the reserve of expensive, high-end mattresses.

Another technique applied more commonly in mid-range mattresses, is to simply attach the stitching to the spring unit in the mattress. Other manufacturers may simply use a material on the side of the mattress which appears to be side stitched, but actually is not.

  • Tufted

Tufting is a traditional and highly successful way of finishing a mattress surface. The end result makes the mattress appear to have dimples, or buttons dipping into the surface. This technique is designed to hold the surface materials together and to fix them to the core of the mattress to prevent the layers moving over time. A modern method is Spiral Tufting, which involves fixing the surface to the fillings and spring unit.

The actual tuft is usually made from a cotton felt material and is fastened by a cotton or wool chord to the spring unit, in most cases. A tufted mattress will normally have a firmer surface than a non-tufted/quilted surface. The reason for this is that the Tufting process actually holds the surface material and underlying fibre layers tightly together. This will create a tighter, firmer feel than a quilted mattress.
