Product Description
This mattress is being discontinued in 2025 and we have reduced our prices to clear! The Sleepeezee Balance 1200 mattress is part of the PocketGel Collection, a range of beds introduced by Sleepeezee to showcase exactly what they can offer with modern materials and processes, combined with their vast experience and know-how. The Balance 1200 mattress is hugely popular, and it is easy to see why. This wonderful mattress combines comfort and support perfectly, providing medium - firm support.
The Sleepeezee Balance 1200 mattress is built around a pocket spring unit, boasting 1200 individual springs, all moving up and down like pistons as weight is applied. This approach means that a spring will only compress as weight is applied, as each spring is independent of one another, there is no compromise. In other spring systems, the springs are all linked, which means pressing on one will result in it's neighbouring springs dipping, which is not ideal for good support.
Sleepeezee have topped this mattress with its StayCool Gel, designed to offer the comfort and support of Latex, combined with the price point of memory foam. On top of that, this new form of Gel is wonderful for keeping cool, as the name would suggest. This new Gel is one of the best materials used in mattresses today, and Sleepeezee are adding it to more and more of their mattresses due to its success.
The Balance 1200 mattress is quilted on the surface, with only very shallow, hidden tufts to control the firmness of the mattress. This mattress is also finished with a wonderfully soft, silky smooth and tactile cover fabric, further adding to the luxurious nature of this Sleepeezee bed. At 26cm deep, this mattress is slightly deeper than the average mattress. It also has handles on the sides to aid movement, as well as breather vents to further aid the heat management.

- Quite heavyIm glad it does not need flipping over as it is heavy. The delivery guys did a great job on a hot day - rather them than me!Verified Buyer
- Finally! We made the mistake of buying a [name removed] as we fell for the hype and the 100 night sleep trial etc. After many sleepless nights, we decided to go out and try some mattresses. We saw this one, liked it and were pleased to see it was in stock online. We're absolutely thrilled with it and now sleep soundly.Verified Buyer
- Returned another mattress for this oneWe returned our horrible [name removed] 'bed in a box' mattress that was awful, hot and uncomfortable. We did a lot of research and opted for this one after what seemed like years of browsing. We are very pleased! We fully recommend this mattress to all (and have) and would never consider returning this one.Verified Buyer

Glossary
- Pocket Sprung
Pocket Sprung units are an adaption of the traditional open coil/continuous spring unit. By placing each spring in its own individual 'pocket' (a fabric sock-like pouch), the spring is not joined to any other part of the mattress. The pocket that supports the spring is then joined to its neighbouring pockets and this effect creates a unique feel.
By creating a spring unit in this way, it allows the springs to move independently, rather than sharing the pressure with surrounding springs. This effect allows for much more accurate contour following and a more comfortable feel overall.
If you were to push your hand into a traditionally sprung mattress, the area around your hand would dip/sink too. With Pocket Springs, this sunken area is much more remote and therefore more accurately follows the contours of the pressure source. There are differences in the techniques used to create Pocket Springs, but more or less they remain the same. - Pressure Points
Pressure Points are created in the body when lying on a mattress which is not suitable for a persons physique. The Pressure Points are caused by putting stresses through the body. When the spine is not aligned correctly (i.e, straight), it can cause pressure to build up in the back, hips or shoulders (etc).
When a bed is too soft, the body sinks in, causing certain areas to be under the strain of the rest of the body. When a mattress is too hard/firm, then the weight applied can cause the body to flex/bend in the opposite way - causing a similar problem. Hips, shoulders and so on, are requried to be sunken into the mattress slightly more than the surrounding areas, as they carry the weight. When this is not the case, the lower back may be bent to compensate. The ideal mattress is one which will keep the spine straight. - Side Stitched
Side Stitching is the way in which the side of a mattress is finished. A traditional process, the Side Stitching technique applied by many high-end companies, is a highly-skilled profession and takes time and a great deal of experience to perfect. The technique involves passing a needle through the side of a mattress right the way through to the horizontal surfaces for additional strength and stability. This technique is normally the reserve of expensive, high-end mattresses.
Another technique applied more commonly in mid-range mattresses, is to simply attach the stitching to the spring unit in the mattress. Other manufacturers may simply use a material on the side of the mattress which appears to be side stitched, but actually is not. - Tufted
Tufting is a traditional and highly successful way of finishing a mattress surface. The end result makes the mattress appear to have dimples, or buttons dipping into the surface. This technique is designed to hold the surface materials together and to fix them to the core of the mattress to prevent the layers moving over time. A modern method is Spiral Tufting, which involves fixing the surface to the fillings and spring unit.
The actual tuft is usually made from a cotton felt material and is fastened by a cotton or wool chord to the spring unit, in most cases. A tufted mattress will normally have a firmer surface than a non-tufted/quilted surface. The reason for this is that the Tufting process actually holds the surface material and underlying fibre layers tightly together. This will create a tighter, firmer feel than a quilted mattress.
