The Naturelle 1400 boasts a 1400 Pocket Spring system, a deep layer of Lambs Wool and a high-quality cover material among other exquisite details.

Naturelle 1400 Specifications

Naturelle mattress has been designed with all the hallmarks of a Sleepeezee bed; excellent value for money, the finest fillings and materials, a supportive and efficient spring system and a wonderfully comfortable sleeping surface. It’s one of our favourites, and its popularity continues to rise.

The 1400 Pocket Springs are incredibly efficient at carrying the body weight applied. With a traditional spring, the weight is shared between the springs, meaning that a spring may be compromised by it's surrounding springs. With Pocket Springs the energy is concentrated up or down in individual springs, a very efficient and supportive approach. The result is excellent posture and therefore no more aches and pains in the morning.

This mattress is a turnable mattress, and both sides have a deep and sumptuous layer of British wool to sink into. These surface layers are held in place by the hand-applied tufts, ensuring durability and a precise level of firmness at all times. There are breather vents on the sides of this mattress to further enhance the breathability of the bed. This maintains a comfortable heat and moisture level at all times.

Who Is This Mattress Best Suited For?

The Sleepeezee Naturelle 1400 Mattress is perfect for anyone wanting a supportive and comfortable night's sleep on a mattress made with natural fibres and materials. This mattress uses only the finest natural materials and achieves a wonderfully comfortable feel.

  1. Saima Says:
    100%
    Comfy mattress
This mattress is very comfy. I had an extra firm one before this that I had for over twenty years.
So this one feels a little softer in comparison, but still pretty firm and supportive to lay on. My husband and I have slept peacefully and with no backache or hip pain. The only downside is that when my husband sits on the edge or lays towards the edge of the bed he finds the mattress dipping downwards and so feels he'll fall off the bed. Also the mattress is quite heavy and requires two people to rotate and turn. Overall a comfy and supportive mattress.

    Excellent Mattress
I have just had surgery on L5 S1 disc. This mattress is perfect for a balance of support and firmness. I have had it now for 3months and it has been good on all fronts.

Glossary

  • Pocket Sprung

Pocket Sprung units are an adaption of the traditional open coil/continuous spring unit. By placing each spring in its own individual 'pocket' (a fabric sock-like pouch), the spring is not joined to any other part of the mattress. The pocket that supports the spring is then joined to its neighbouring pockets and this effect creates a unique feel.

By creating a spring unit in this way, it allows the springs to move independently, rather than sharing the pressure with surrounding springs. This effect allows for much more accurate contour following and a more comfortable feel overall.

If you were to push your hand into a traditionally sprung mattress, the area around your hand would dip/sink too. With Pocket Springs, this sunken area is much more remote and therefore more accurately follows the contours of the pressure source. There are differences in the techniques used to create Pocket Springs, but more or less they remain the same.

  • Pressure Points

Pressure Points are created in the body when lying on a mattress which is not suitable for a persons physique. The Pressure Points are caused by putting stresses through the body. When the spine is not aligned correctly (i.e, straight), it can cause pressure to build up in the back, hips or shoulders (etc).

When a bed is too soft, the body sinks in, causing certain areas to be under the strain of the rest of the body. When a mattress is too hard/firm, then the weight applied can cause the body to flex/bend in the opposite way - causing a similar problem. Hips, shoulders and so on, are requried to be sunken into the mattress slightly more than the surrounding areas, as they carry the weight. When this is not the case, the lower back may be bent to compensate. The ideal mattress is one which will keep the spine straight.

  • Side Stitched

Side Stitching is the way in which the side of a mattress is finished. A traditional process, the Side Stitching technique applied by many high-end companies, is a highly-skilled profession and takes time and a great deal of experience to perfect. The technique involves passing a needle through the side of a mattress right the way through to the horizontal surfaces for additional strength and stability. This technique is normally the reserve of expensive, high-end mattresses.

Another technique applied more commonly in mid-range mattresses, is to simply attach the stitching to the spring unit in the mattress. Other manufacturers may simply use a material on the side of the mattress which appears to be side stitched, but actually is not.

  • Tufted

Tufting is a traditional and highly successful way of finishing a mattress surface. The end result makes the mattress appear to have dimples, or buttons dipping into the surface. This technique is designed to hold the surface materials together and to fix them to the core of the mattress to prevent the layers moving over time. A modern method is Spiral Tufting, which involves fixing the surface to the fillings and spring unit.

The actual tuft is usually made from a cotton felt material and is fastened by a cotton or wool chord to the spring unit, in most cases. A tufted mattress will normally have a firmer surface than a non-tufted/quilted surface. The reason for this is that the Tufting process actually holds the surface material and underlying fibre layers tightly together. This will create a tighter, firmer feel than a quilted mattress.
