The Bedstead Range is not made for bedsteads only, but has specific design specifications to manage use on slatted bases. The Bedstead Pocket Five is instantly recognisable as a Hypnos mattress, thanks to the design flourishes and attention to detail. Every stitch and layer of fibre fillings are finished by hand by Hypnos' experienced craftsmen and women.

The Bedstead 5 is a mattress with some stunning details. As part of the latest generation of Hypnos beds, this mattress boasts all the modern developments that Hypnos have been working on as well as the wealth of experience that sets Hypnos apart from the competition. Chief among these developments is the Cocona cover material and the use of the ReActive Spring System.

The Bedstead Pocket Five has a pocket spring system, but with a twist. The Hypnos Pocket Springs are named ReActive Springs, and they react according to the amount of weight being applied. The result of this is the more energy applied = the firmer the spring. So areas of the body requiring more support (lumbar region, shoulders and so on) will apply more pressure to the springs, which will result in a firmer spring. The ReActive Spring is treated in such a way that it has pressure thresholds (known as 'Turns'), and the more Turns it has, the more gradual and refined the increase in firmness is as weight is applied. This Bedstead mattress has 10 Turns (the top of the range model, the Bedstead Pocket Six has 12 Turns).

The cover material is a luxurious and tactile blend of viscose and Cocona. Cocona is a recent addition to the bedding industry. Made from Coconut fibre, this material is exceptionally good at maintaining a comfortable temperature and moisture level, it is also completely natural and void of man-made fibres.

The surface of this mattress contains deep layers of luxuriously sumptuous fillings. These fillings include Wool and Latex. The result of this combination is a wonderfully comfortable sleeping surface that will not only mould to the body's contours perfectly and instantly, but will also remain cool and comfortable at all times. This Hypnos mattress - as with all Hypnos mattresses - is a Tufted mattress. The tufts are applied by hand and ensure an even and durable surface layer.

The Hypnos Bedstead 5 has three rows of side stitched bordering, which results in a stronger sidewall. This is ideal for Single and Double sized mattresses, as it increases the comfortable sleeping surface (no fear of roll off). The side stitching process is a skilled job, and the quality of Hypnos' side stitching is testament to the experience and ability of the craftsmen and women at Hypnos. The Hypnos Bedstead Pocket Five also has air vents to allow the mattress to breathe, further increasing the durability and comfort of the mattress. It also has handles for easy movement when required.
