Other mattress sizes that you might be interested in
A King Size mattress is the most popular large size in the UK, second only to the Double size, which is smaller in both length and width. A King Size mattress is able to get in to most bedrooms and can be delivered with ease, unlike some of the much larger sizes. Smaller mattress sizes are still very popular but do not offer the same space and comfort at night, particularly for taller people, as a King Size mattress is 10cm longer (head to toe) than a Double size mattress. We have listed some of the other size mattresses you may be interested in below, but you can see our full mattress size guide here.
Double mattress - this is the most popular mattress size in the UK. Measuring smaller than a King Size in both width and length, it is 135cm x 190cm Vs 150cm x 200cm.
Super King Size mattress - this is the next size up. At a whopping 6 feet wide (180cm) and 6'6" (200cm) long, this mattress is large enough for most.
King Size Zip and Link - this option is the same size as a King Size, but sees the mattress split into two, then zipped together. Ideal for those with access issues.
King Size Mattress FAQs
What size is a King Size mattress?
King size mattress measurements are 150 cm X 200cm (6’ x 6’6”).
What are the different types of King Size mattresses?
Every manufacturer makes mattresses in this standard UK size. This is the second most popular size (after Double mattress) and we’re proud to be the biggest stockist of this size anywhere in the Country. King Size mattresses are available in every specification and firmness level, made to all budgets and by all suppliers.
What is the best King Size mattress?
A King Size mattress has a good amount of width, 150cm, and so this means there is ample space to move freely during sleep. As such, a strong sidewall may not be such an important consideration and this could increase the choice you have available to you.
Who is a King Size mattress best suited for?
King mattresses are the perfect size for a shared bed, or can offer a luxurious night’s sleep for single users. We would always suggest taking a quick look at the access to the bedroom to prevent problems upon delivery, as some mattresses can be very difficult to manoeuvre into the room.
