Product Description

The Hypnos Deluxe Cheltenham is an excellent luxury pocket-sprung mattress. Hypnos mattresses are simply some of the best available - you don't hold the Royal Warrant to the household of HM Queen Elizabeth II for nothing - with the Deluxe Cheltenham fitting smartly into this high-quality collection. If natural fillings, ReActivePro™ pocket springs, and a 10-year guarantee aren't enough to sway you, Hypnos offers a free 60-night sleep trial to help you decide.

This exceptional seasonal turn mattress is made to last, with 100% natural and sustainable fibres that can be recycled at the end of the mattress's long life. The Cheltenham mattress is filled with 700gsm Red Tractor assured British wool on each sleeping side, as well as organic cotton, hemp, and flax. Cotton, flax, and hemp keep the sleeper cool throughout the night, whereas British wool allows the mattress to breathe while also being a lusciously comfortable material. A dual-density eOlus™ recycled fibre support pad gently cushions the springs while maintaining tension.

While the natural and sustainable fibres provide some support, the Deluxe Cheltenham mattress relies heavily on 1216 pocket springs (in a 5' Kingsize). These are 7-turn ReActivePro™ pocket springs. These springs are extremely resilient, with higher tension springs at the mattress's edges to provide edge-to-edge support. The Hypnos Deluxe Cheltenham mattress has a medium feel and provides even support throughout the mattress.

The Cheltenham has a cotton, kapok, and viscose cover that keeps you dry and cool. This mattress is a seasonal turn mattress, which means it should be turned and rotated as the seasons change. We recommend that you turn and rotate this mattress a few times in the weeks following delivery to allow the natural fibres to settle properly.

The Deluxe Cheltenham mattress has been created exclusively for MyNextMattress - you won't find it anywhere else! With our 2-person team, we will deliver this mattress directly to your preferred room. Delivery is free!*

Glossary

  • Fibre Most mattresses will have layers of fillings under the surface to increase comfort and separate the spring units from the surface. The most common fillings used in mattresses are cotton, wool and polyester among others. Mattresses require fillings to create a soft surface tension on which to sleep. The fillings normally compliment the internal spring unit by adding comfort to the support offered (by the spring unit) The tension of the surface fillings can be tuned by the density in which they are packed as well as by the method in which they are bound together. Tufting results in a slightly firmer feel than quilting.
  • Fillings

The fillings of each mattress can differ from one another, but largely they include British Lambs Wool and Cotton. Some also feature Latex, Silk and Cashmere.

  • Firmness

MyNextMattress is developing a new and unique solution to the Firmness scale accuracy. Not seen anywhere else in the World, we will be measuring the Firmness of all our mattresses precisely and in detail.

We are the only company in the Country that will actually measure the Firmness of a mattress and give a grading out of 10. We are always aware that choosing your next mattress can be a difficult and time consuming process, therefore we strive to give as much information as possible on every mattress we sell.

The way our system works is by applying weight to a mattress. We will apply weight gradually and measure the amount the mattress dips. The more weight, the more the mattress will 'sink'. We would then measure the distance the mattress dips and plot these measurements (weight and distance) on a graph. This graph can then be used to tell us the Firmness category the mattress fits into, 7 out of 10 for instance.

Our Firmness Device provides a central rod which we apply weights to, on the bottom end there is a disc which pushes into the mattress. The top of this rod supports the weights and will sink according to the 'give' in a mattress. We measure from this point.

As a result of this unique technique, it will be possible for you to shop by the firmness of a mattress, this is not possible anywhere else.

  • Guarantee (Hypnos)

The Hypnos Guarantee extends for a Decade. Your new Hypnos mattress or base will have a leaflet with more information, as well as a form to be completed and sent to Hypnos directly.

  • Handles (Hypnos)

All Hypnos mattresses have handles stitched into them, to help with movement. Hypnos mattresses are heavier than the average mattress, and the handles will help with movement, turning and rotating.

  • Pocket Sprung

Pocket Sprung units are an adaption of the traditional open coil/continuous spring unit. By placing each spring in its own individual 'pocket' (a fabric sock-like pouch), the spring is not joined to any other part of the mattress. The pocket that supports the spring is then joined to its neighbouring pockets and this effect creates a unique feel.

By creating a spring unit in this way, it allows the springs to move independently, rather than sharing the pressure with surrounding springs. This effect allows for much more accurate contour following and a more comfortable feel overall.

If you were to push your hand into a traditionally sprung mattress, the area around your hand would dip/sink too. With Pocket Springs, this sunken area is much more remote and therefore more accurately follows the contours of the pressure source. There are differences in the techniques used to create Pocket Springs, but more or less they remain the same.

  • Royal Warrant

    See 'Queen'.

  • Side Stitched

Side Stitching is the way in which the side of a mattress is finished. A traditional process, the Side Stitching technique applied by many high-end companies, is a highly-skilled profession and takes time and a great deal of experience to perfect. The technique involves passing a needle through the side of a mattress right the way through to the horizontal surfaces for additional strength and stability. This technique is normally the reserve of expensive, high-end mattresses.

Another technique applied more commonly in mid-range mattresses, is to simply attach the stitching to the spring unit in the mattress. Other manufacturers may simply use a material on the side of the mattress which appears to be side stitched, but actually is not.

  • Tufted

Tufting is a traditional and highly successful way of finishing a mattress surface. The end result makes the mattress appear to have dimples, or buttons dipping into the surface. This technique is designed to hold the surface materials together and to fix them to the core of the mattress to prevent the layers moving over time. A modern method is Spiral Tufting, which involves fixing the surface to the fillings and spring unit.

The actual tuft is usually made from a cotton felt material and is fastened by a cotton or wool chord to the spring unit, in most cases. A tufted mattress will normally have a firmer surface than a non-tufted/quilted surface. The reason for this is that the Tufting process actually holds the surface material and underlying fibre layers tightly together. This will create a tighter, firmer feel than a quilted mattress.

  • Turn / No Turn

Some mattresses require turning over, to aid even settlement. Others do not require turning, but will still require rotating.

  • Turns (Hypnos)

This relates to the ReActive and UltraSens spring units. The term Turn is the number of points that the spring has been heat treated, therefore the number of pressure thresholds it can respond to.
