Product Description
The Hypnos Heritage Warwick Supreme Mattress is a superb model, ranking among our best selling mattresses of all time. This mattress has been made to the very highest standards possible, being hand crafted over a period of weeks. The Warwick is built around a Pocket Spring system, which Hypnos have pioneered over recent years, naming them ReActive springs. The Warwick Supreme mattress also has a deep, sumptuous layer of natural fillings to provide a wonderfully luxurious level of comfort.
Pocket Springs move up and down like pistons, compressing as weight is applied and so conforming to the shape and contours of the body. The beauty of these springs is that they will move like this instantly. As they're in their own pockets of fabric, they are removed from one another and cannot influence their neighbouring springs. The result of this is that there is very little compromise at all. Also; the springs do not get affected by movement on other areas of the mattress, so there is no risk of disturbing your partner in the night.
To compress a standard spring completely, you would continue applying the same amount of pressure from start to finish. This means that other bed manufacturers have to use a firm spring to create a supportive bed and resist the application of pressure - this compromises comfort. With a Hypnos Spring, there are pressure thresholds ("Turns"). These thresholds mean that more and more pressure is required to collapse the spring completely (8 Turns is 8 Thresholds). The outer Turns of the spring will not require a lot of energy to compress, but more and more energy is required to collapse the Spring completely. In short, a Hypnos Spring will be soft when it needs to be and firm when it needs to be - no compromise.
This spring system is also a Zoned spring unit, so the springs around the lumbar region are built to support slightly heavier loads that the other springs in the mattress. A clever detail that means you'll always have the support you require, preventing aches and pains from forming in the night.
Hypnos have hand applied some deep, luxurious fillings to the Warwick Supreme, applying them by hand. The Heritage Warwick Supreme boasts fillings including British Wool, Cashmere and White Fibre. These layers are then bound in place through the hand-tufting technique; a highly skilled job that ensures the mattress remains taut and the surface remains consistently comfortable and durable. The mattress is finished in Bamboo rich Belgian Damask, the very finest. This cover feels luxuriously soft to the touch, and also aids temperature and moisture control.
The Warwick Supreme has 2 rows of side stitched borders, keeping the side walls strong and preventing roll-off. The Warwick also has air vents all around, aiding moisture and heat management. This mattress also has handles to make moving and turning that bit easier.
The Divan base of this Hypnos bed is built to the very highest standards too, as you would expect. The base features strong dovetail joints, reinforced support beams and a choice of 29 beautiful colours and fabrics.

Glossary
- Breathability
Mattresses need to breathe. With the amount of fillings and areas of space within a mattress, they can quickly hold heat and moisture. Over time this can influence the way a mattress behaves and also effect the life span of a mattress.Â
Manufacturers have developed different ways of tackling the problem of Breathability in mattresses. Some brands have used vents to allow air to pass through the mattress. Some brands use state-of-the-art materials to cover the mattress, such as Coolmax or Outlast. Memory Foam has a reputation of storing heat and moisture, as foam requires heat to soften up.Memory Foam brands have overcome this problem by applying Coolmax and Outlast, they also use Open Cell technology. This technique is to simply allow the foam to settle with larger spaces between the foam cells. This allows heat and moisture to move freely without getting trapped.
Some mattresses are created in such a way that they do not require any additional Breathability methods. These mattresses are generally the entry level mattresses with Open Coil spring units and not a great deal of fillings. - Breather Vent
See Vents.
- Fibre Most mattresses will have layers of fillings under the surface to increase comfort and separate the spring units from the surface. The most common fillings used in mattresses are cotton, wool and polyester among others. Mattresses require fillings to create a soft surface tension on which to sleep. The fillings normally compliment the internal spring unit by adding comfort to the support offered (by the spring unit) The tension of the surface fillings can be tuned by the density in which they are packed as well as by the method in which they are bound together. Tufting results in a slightly firmer feel than quilting.
- Pocket Sprung
Pocket Sprung units are an adaption of the traditional open coil/continuous spring unit. By placing each spring in its own individual 'pocket' (a fabric sock-like pouch), the spring is not joined to any other part of the mattress. The pocket that supports the spring is then joined to its neighbouring pockets and this effect creates a unique feel.
By creating a spring unit in this way, it allows the springs to move independently, rather than sharing the pressure with surrounding springs. This effect allows for much more accurate contour following and a more comfortable feel overall.
If you were to push your hand into a traditionally sprung mattress, the area around your hand would dip/sink too. With Pocket Springs, this sunken area is much more remote and therefore more accurately follows the contours of the pressure source. There are differences in the techniques used to create Pocket Springs, but more or less they remain the same. - ReActive (Hypnos)
This is the Hypnos spring unit that has 8 Turns and features Active Turns.
- Vents
The small metal mesh on the side of the mattress to aid moisture and heat management.
