The Hypnos Pillow Comfort Coral mattress is one of the entry-level models in the superb Pillow Top Collection. This range of mattresses is designed to offer absolute luxury, but not compromise on support. Whilst not as firm as some of the other Hypnos mattresses, this range of beds still promotes good posture and will work to prevent pressure points from forming. The Hypnos Pillow Comfort Coral mattress punches well above its weight, designed to showcase exactly what Hypnos can do with over 100 years of know-how, the Coral is a superb mattress for the money.

The Coral mattress is completely handmade and features the famous Hypnos ReActive pocket spring unit, providing comfort and support like no other spring system. Hypnos has evolved the traditional pocket spring unit so it will respond to weight as it is applied. A normal pocket spring will compress as weight is applied, moving up and down accordingly to aid posture and prevent pressure points from forming. These springs are wrapped in a fabric 'pocket' and so do not come into contact with the neighbouring springs, preventing any compromise. Hypnos has gone a step further and their springs recognise the amount of weight applied, and so will respond differently to the heavier parts of the body than they do to the lighter parts. The result is very precise and accurate support, exactly when and where it is required; a truly orthopaedic spring within a luxury mattress. This mattress recognises 6 pressure levels (hence 6 "ReActive Turns").

The fillings in this hugely popular mattress include Wool and Solotex fibres. Solotex is a recycled fibre that is completely natural and fully breathable, perfectly complementing the same factors in the New Zealand Wool in the mattress. Hypnos apply these layers by hand to be sure of a level and consistent finish, and the breathable nature of the fillings means that air can pass through easily, keeping it cool and comfortable at all times.

This Hypnos mattress is finished in a silky smooth damask fabric that is as tactile as it is durable. It is a shame to cover the mattress in a sheet! Hypnos has infused the cover with the brilliant 37.5 deg technology. This sees tiny mineral particles bound to the fibres of the cover. They retain excess heat when you're warm and release it when you cool, aiming to sustain the perfect micro-climate of 37.5degC. This cover acts as a thermostat to ensure you're comfortable at all times and is another example of Hypnos carefully evolving its range.

This is a tufted mattress, hence the dimples on the surface. Tufting is a skilled process that binds the surface layers in place, preventing movement and ensuring durability. There are also 2 rows of side stitching, another skilled process that strengthens the sidewalls of the mattress, which actually increases the comfortable sleeping surface by up to 15%, as you can sleep right up to the edge.

There are handles and breather vents on the sides of the mattress. The handles aid movement when required, although this is a no-turn mattress, so only requires turning once per season (although we recommend this is done more often in the early weeks after delivery).
