The Pillow Top Celestial is built around the excellent ReActive Pocket Spring unit, famous in the bed industry as being a pioneering evolution of the now-standard pocket spring. A conventional pocket spring is very good, moving like a piston as weight is applied, to accurately and instantly conform to the body's contours. Each spring is independent of one another, meaning any compressed spring will not interfere with its neighbours, enhancing the accuracy of the support offered. However; a Hypnos ReActive spring will actually get firmer as more weight is applied. This very clever evolution means that the areas of the body that put the most weight into the mattress (hips, shoulders typically) actually have a firmer level of support and therefore good posture is maintained at all times. There are various standards of ReActive spring, the Pillow Top Celestial has an 8-Turn spring, meaning it recognises 8 different levels of firmness.
