Product Description
The Uno Life Ortho mattress is one of the more popular models from this new Breasley "Uno" range. Breasley introduced the Uno Collection to showcase what they can do with the latest materials and technology, as well as the huge amount of experience they have as the UK's biggest foam mattress producer.
The Uno Life Ortho mattress is made from a supportive density of foam, which is also zoned to ensure the areas of the body that need support the most will get it (lumbar region for example). This mattress is comfortable but aimed at those who prefer a firmer feel.
The support offered by this mattress is excellent, and it easily, quickly and accurately mirrors the contours of the body, preventing pressure points from forming, and therefore preventing aches and pains in the morning!
The Uno Life Ortho mattress has a tactile, high-quality cover, which is also removable and washable (40deg C). The Life Ortho is a no-turn mattress, so it only requires rotation once per Season.
Not only does this new Breasley Uno mattress have a great quality foam on the inside, but the cover is also finished with HyCare®. This new treatment acts to fight bacteria, fungi and odours and is another element to this mattress that will increase it's durability.
This mattress is delivered vacuum rolled, as the air can be removed from the foam and then the mattress is tightly rolled.
Please note; this mattress may appear ready to use within minutes, but we recommend allowing 4hrs for expansion.

Memory Foam was invented by NASA in 1966. The idea was to improve the safety of aircraft cushions, but it was not long before th material was developed further and used in more and more products. Memory Foam is an open cell construction, which reacts to body heat and weight. The more heat applied, the softer the material gets. This, in turn, allows the weight applied to sink deeper. Memory Foam can be made at various densities to result in different tensions/firmnesses.
The crucial element of Memory Foam is that it softens and moulds to the body shape. This ability allows for very accurate contour support and weight distribution. This ability makes Memory Foam a desirable material for mattresses. Some mattresses are completely Memory Foam, perhaps using different layers of various densities. Some mattresses use Memory Foam to compliment a Spring Unit.
As Memory Foam requires heat to achieve its desired state, the heat is stored. Some people are not keen on Memory Foam as this heat can gradually build, resulting in a warm bed. However, this stereotype can be seen as outdated, as many manufacturers have solved the issue by applying new techniques to compliment the Foam. Techniques such as Outlast and Coolmax. Memory Foam is also Hypoallergenic and is therefore very popular with Asthma and Allergy sufferers.
- Orthopaedic
Orthopaedic mattresses are usually the firmest mattresses on the market. A common mistake made by those with back pain, is to assume that a firm Orthopaedic mattress will be the solution. Personal comfort and a correct diagnosis of the cause of the pain should always be saught before purchasing an Orthopaedic mattress.
Many brands have 'Ortho' mattresses. Terms used include 'Backcare' or 'Orthocare' and the theme is generally to produce a firmer feeling mattress. The idea is to create a mattress that the body can rest on without sinking in and bending the spine, causing pressure to build up. However, if a lighter person lays on a firmer mattress, they will find the spine will not align correctly as the loaded parts of the body (shoulders, hips etc) are not sitting correctly. For more information on the causes of back pain, click here or read about another solution in the Zoning description. - Rebound
This is the term we use to describe the speed at which the mattress returns to its natural shape after pressure is applied.
