Product Description

The Highgrove Aspire 1500 is part of the 1500 Pocket Series. This smart Highgrove bed contains 1500 Pocket Springs to give fantastic support and comfort whilst you sleep. The Pocket Springs are Foam Encapsulated to give a more stable and solid feel to the mattress. The Highgrove Aspire Luxury contains Bamboo yarn which is soft, stronger and three times more absorbent than cotton, absorbing moisture on hot summer nights but keeping you warm in winter. Bamboo is a natural anti-bacterial de-odouriser which means that any odours the mattress is subjected to will be wiped out. The anti-bacterial properties complement the hypoallergenic properties provided by the latex included in the Highgrove Aspire Luxury mattress to ensure a healthy night's sleep night after night. Highgrove only use unique Natural latex based products manufactured from the sap of Tropical Rubber Trees.

The Highgrove Aspire 1500 features latex; a 'green' material which is natural, sustainable and does not produce any unnatural gasses. Latex is also extremely buoyant and elastic and will remain intact as the core of the mattress throughout its lifetime.

Latex is ideal for bedding because of its Hypoallergenic, anti-bacterial, and anti-dust mite qualities. These organisms do not thrive in natural Latex and therefore the Highgrove Aspire Luxury is the perfect mattress for allergy and asthma sufferers.

The Foam Encapsulated Highgrove Aspire Luxury features a technique which is a recent addition to the bedding market. Foam Encapsulation is an idea designed to offer greater edge-to-edge support as well as offering greater Bedstead/Slatted base compatibility. The idea is simple; create a spring unit and then sit it in a 'matchbox' of Foam. The pocket spring unit is surrounded on all sides by a layer of Memory Foam which gives a solid, stable feel to the mattress and allows the spring unit to be completely separated from the mattresses fillings and cushion.

Glossary

  • Hypoallergenic

Put simply, Hypoallergenic materials do not cause the amount of irritation that non-hypoallergenic materials can. Hypoallergenic materials can still cause irritation in some cases, the chances of this are reduced greatly. People with severe allergies and asthma may still have problems with items called hypoallergenic, but the risk is greatly reduced.

Hypoallergenic materials do not omit the same particles and fibres as other non-hypoallergenic materials. These particles are to blame for causing irritation and discomfort and in some cases the irritation can be dangerous. The Hypoallergenic properties of these materials can be created by number of techniques. Some materials (Memory Foam or Latex) are naturally hypoallergenic, others have been chemically treated.

  • Latex

Latex is the ultimate in luxurious natural materials (but can be synthetic in other markets). Latex is actually found in more than 10% of flowering plants around the world. About 20,000 species from more than 40 families. The Latex used in the bedding industry is taken from sustainable sources. Latex is perfect for mattresses because it is soft, hypoallergenic, natural and moulds to the shape of the body.

Latex used in bedding also tends to be treated in such a way that it can be used by people who have Latex allergies! The technique used is to super heat the Latex unit, freeze it, super heat it and freeze it again. Once this process is complete, the harmful chemicals released can be chemically washed off, leaving it suitable for everyone. Latex is the material Memory Foam has tried to copy. Memory foam  requires heat to mould to the shape of your body and can therefore become too warm for some. Latex does not require heat and is soft at any temperature. As a natural material which requires time and various processes to be extracted, Latex can be more expensive that its rival materials, but the comfort levels achieved are well worth it.

  • Pocket Sprung

Pocket Sprung units are an adaption of the traditional open coil/continuous spring unit. By placing each spring in its own individual 'pocket' (a fabric sock-like pouch), the spring is not joined to any other part of the mattress. The pocket that supports the spring is then joined to its neighbouring pockets and this effect creates a unique feel.

By creating a spring unit in this way, it allows the springs to move independently, rather than sharing the pressure with surrounding springs. This effect allows for much more accurate contour following and a more comfortable feel overall.

If you were to push your hand into a traditionally sprung mattress, the area around your hand would dip/sink too. With Pocket Springs, this sunken area is much more remote and therefore more accurately follows the contours of the pressure source. There are differences in the techniques used to create Pocket Springs, but more or less they remain the same.

  • Quilted / Micro Quilted

Quilting is the stitching technique used to join or attach the mattress' surface layers of fibres to the surface material (the ticking). There are various different techniques which can be used to join these layers, but Quilting is common. Traditionally, Quilting offers a softer surface feel than Tufting as the layers are not held together so tightly. Also see Diamond Stitching or Micro Quilting for variations on Quilting.
