Product Description

The Relaxsan Waterlattex Vision Deluxe mattress is a wonderful mattress, built on the success of the standard Waterlattex mattress (this model is a fraction softer). This all-new Deluxe model, sees an increase in the overall depth of the mattress, offering additional luxury and support from an already tried and tested best-seller. We love this mattress, and it has fast become part of our best sellers list.

This Relaxsan mattress is designed to offer wonderful comfort, which does not compromise the support on offer. This mattress has a high resilience supportive foundation layer that can effortlessly and instantly give support to any body type, creating a supportive platform for the other layers of the mattress to work with, developing a wonderful blend of support and comfort.

The Waterlattex Vision Deluxe also boasts the patented Airyform construction, which is designed to ensure that the areas of the body that require additional support (the hips and lumbar region) receive the additional support exactly as required. This very simple technique is very efficient and prevents aches and pains in the morning.

This mattress also features a Winter side and a Summer side. The idea is that the two differing constructions of surface layers act to either maintain warmth or to dissipate it, depending on the external temperatures and the requirements you may have. This is another example of the simple, yet effective design touches that have led to this mattress becoming one of our more successful.

The cover material of the Waterlattex Vision Deluxe is a Coolmax cover, designed to further improve the heat and moisture-controlling aspects of this mattress. Coolmax is a wonderfully soft and tactile fabric, that draws heat away from the body, maintaining a comfortable temperature at all times.

As there are no moving parts and the materials used are high quality and durable, this mattress will easily outlast it's 8 Year Warranty, and will continue to offer comfort and support for many years to come.

    Very comfortable but odd smell
It is a very comfortable mattress but I nearly sent it back because of the odd foam smell it had at first. It took around a week to go away and was a strong smell.

    Quality.............
My last mattress was WaterLattex and I had it for about 25 years.
I was so pleased to find this one to replace it. However, I did not expect it to be quite so firm, particularly as it says it is softer than previous models.
I am a front/sidesleeper and weigh approx 7 1/2 stones, so maybe I am really too light weight for this mattress now. I am still in process of deciding if I should swap it for something softer........................but i'm very reluctant to do so in a way. This is an excellent mattress and I would still recommend it.

Glossary

  • Hypoallergenic

Put simply, Hypoallergenic materials do not cause the amount of irritation that non-hypoallergenic materials can. Hypoallergenic materials can still cause irritation in some cases, the chances of this are reduced greatly. People with severe allergies and asthma may still have problems with items called hypoallergenic, but the risk is greatly reduced.

Hypoallergenic materials do not omit the same particles and fibres as other non-hypoallergenic materials. These particles are to blame for causing irritation and discomfort and in some cases the irritation can be dangerous. The Hypoallergenic properties of these materials can be created by number of techniques. Some materials (Memory Foam or Latex) are naturally hypoallergenic, others have been chemically treated.

  • Latex

Latex is the ultimate in luxurious natural materials (but can be synthetic in other markets). Latex is actually found in more than 10% of flowering plants around the world. About 20,000 species from more than 40 families. The Latex used in the bedding industry is taken from sustainable sources. Latex is perfect for mattresses because it is soft, hypoallergenic, natural and moulds to the shape of the body.

Latex used in bedding also tends to be treated in such a way that it can be used by people who have Latex allergies! The technique used is to super heat the Latex unit, freeze it, super heat it and freeze it again. Once this process is complete, the harmful chemicals released can be chemically washed off, leaving it suitable for everyone. Latex is the material Memory Foam has tried to copy. Memory foam  requires heat to mould to the shape of your body and can therefore become too warm for some. Latex does not require heat and is soft at any temperature. As a natural material which requires time and various processes to be extracted, Latex can be more expensive that its rival materials, but the comfort levels achieved are well worth it.

  • Memory Foam

Memory Foam was invented by NASA in 1966. The idea was to improve the safety of aircraft cushions, but it was not long before th material was developed further and used in more and more products. Memory Foam is an open cell construction, which reacts to body heat and weight. The more heat applied, the softer the material gets. This, in turn, allows the weight applied to sink deeper. Memory Foam can be made at various densities to result in different tensions/firmnesses.

The crucial element of Memory Foam is that it softens and moulds to the body shape. This ability allows for very accurate contour support and weight distribution. This ability makes Memory Foam a desirable material for mattresses. Some mattresses are completely Memory Foam, perhaps using different layers of various densities. Some mattresses use Memory Foam to compliment a Spring Unit.

As Memory Foam requires heat to achieve its desired state, the heat is stored. Some people are not keen on Memory Foam as this heat can gradually build, resulting in a warm bed. However, this stereotype can be seen as outdated, as many manufacturers have solved the issue by applying new techniques to compliment the Foam. Techniques such as Outlast and Coolmax. Memory Foam is also Hypoallergenic and is therefore very popular with Asthma and Allergy sufferers.

  • Orthopaedic

Orthopaedic mattresses are usually the firmest mattresses on the market. A common mistake made by those with back pain, is to assume that a firm Orthopaedic mattress will be the solution. Personal comfort and a correct diagnosis of the cause of the pain should always be saught before purchasing an Orthopaedic mattress.

Many brands have 'Ortho' mattresses. Terms used include 'Backcare' or 'Orthocare' and the theme is generally to produce a firmer feeling mattress. The idea is to create a mattress that the body can rest on without sinking in and bending the spine, causing pressure to build up. However, if a lighter person lays on a firmer mattress, they will find the spine will not align correctly as the loaded parts of the body (shoulders, hips etc) are not sitting correctly. For more information on the causes of back pain, click here or read about another solution in the Zoning description.
