The Rest Assured Belsay 800 Mattress has won another fantastic accolade! This mattress has the certificate of "Good Housekeeping Institute Approved!"

The Rest Assured Belsay 800 is a return to the traditional approach that Rest Assured had for many years; hand applied fillings, high quality fibres and a luxurious yet supportive feel. The Belsay is superb value for money and it is easy to see why it has become one of the most popular models in the new collection.

This mattress boasts an efficient and refined Pocket Spring unit at it's core. This unit sees each spring working independently from one another , ensuring excellent orthopaedic support. Furthermore, the springs are made from a thicker gauge of wire, which results in a firmer, more supportive feel to the mattress.

As well as the excellent Pocket Spring unit, the Belsay has a deep pad of fibre fillings. This luxurious cushion is of high density, so not to compromise the firmer feel of this mattress, but has enough give and compression to support the body accurately, which further improves the quality and consistency of the support offered. The fillings include Wool, Cotton and other natural fillings, which are both breathable and incredibly comfortable.

The Rest Assured Belsay is a Hand Tufted mattress, controlling the tension of the mattress perfectly, and ensuring durability and comfort in equal measure. These tufts run right through the mattress, and are designed to bind the surface fillings in place and increase the overall support and strength of the mattress.

The cover material used in this mattress is a fantastic new fabric created by Rest Assured to ensure the mattress remains naturally fresh. The fabric eliminates odour, dust mites and mould, and does so without the use of chemicals.

As a firmer feeling mattress, the Belsay is designed for those who prefer a more supportive feel, and want something that is great value for money. We deliver this mattress to the room of choice for free (in sizes larger than Single).

Glossary

  • Pocket Sprung

Pocket Sprung units are an adaption of the traditional open coil/continuous spring unit. By placing each spring in its own individual 'pocket' (a fabric sock-like pouch), the spring is not joined to any other part of the mattress. The pocket that supports the spring is then joined to its neighbouring pockets and this effect creates a unique feel.

By creating a spring unit in this way, it allows the springs to move independently, rather than sharing the pressure with surrounding springs. This effect allows for much more accurate contour following and a more comfortable feel overall.

If you were to push your hand into a traditionally sprung mattress, the area around your hand would dip/sink too. With Pocket Springs, this sunken area is much more remote and therefore more accurately follows the contours of the pressure source. There are differences in the techniques used to create Pocket Springs, but more or less they remain the same.

  • Tufted

Tufting is a traditional and highly successful way of finishing a mattress surface. The end result makes the mattress appear to have dimples, or buttons dipping into the surface. This technique is designed to hold the surface materials together and to fix them to the core of the mattress to prevent the layers moving over time. A modern method is Spiral Tufting, which involves fixing the surface to the fillings and spring unit.

The actual tuft is usually made from a cotton felt material and is fastened by a cotton or wool chord to the spring unit, in most cases. A tufted mattress will normally have a firmer surface than a non-tufted/quilted surface. The reason for this is that the Tufting process actually holds the surface material and underlying fibre layers tightly together. This will create a tighter, firmer feel than a quilted mattress.
