Product Description

The Sealy Hamilton mattress is part of the new Enhance Collection, a range of beds designed by Sealy to offer excellent comfort and support at a great price. This range of beds has a 1000 Pocket Spring system at its core and a Gel support layer on top. This Hamilton mattress is the mid-range model and is a medium firmness mattress.

Sealy are famous the world over for their quality and comfort and are one of the very few bed makers that have genuine science behind the specifications of their mattresses. This Hamilton mattress is no different and will benefit those who prefer a medium firmness level (ideal for front or back sleepers).

The 1000 pocket springs at the core of this mattress will move down as weight is applied, perfectly and instantly mirroring the contours of the body, preventing aches and pains through the promotion of great posture. Each spring is wrapped in its own fabric pocket, so it cannot interfere with surrounding springs when moving, which means the support is absolutely uncompromised!

On top of this no-turn mattress is a Gel layer. Gel has been used by Sealy in this range as it is luxuriously comfortable, breathable and very durable. The comfortable nature of Gel means it is the perfect material to use alongside the pocket springs, which is where the support comes from. These two aspects combine to make a medium tension in this Hamilton mattress. The breathable Gel will allow air to move freely through the mattress, keeping it cool and comfortable at all times. This is further complemented by the breathable fabric used to wrap this mattress.

    Happy customer
I was skeptical at first with the no-turn mattress, but after a few nights I got used to it. The gel comfort layer is really great and it's amazingly supportive. It took me a bit but I found that my back is less tired when I get out of bed than with other mattresses.

I've been sleeping on my Sealy Hamilton Mattress for over two months now and I absolutely love it. The pocket springs combined with the gel comfort layer make for a heavenly sleeping experience. The best thing is though, I don't need to flip the mattress to avoid sagging - it's made in England and has a 5-year guarantee!

    Great choice
I am a very happy customer! I've gone through at least 5 mattresses in the past 10 years and this one is by far the best. It's pocket sprung and gel comfort layer, no-turn design makes it possible for you to change positions throughout the night without having to worry about flipping your mattress. It's also made in England, which makes a difference.

Glossary

  • Pocket Sprung

Pocket Sprung units are an adaption of the traditional open coil/continuous spring unit. By placing each spring in its own individual 'pocket' (a fabric sock-like pouch), the spring is not joined to any other part of the mattress. The pocket that supports the spring is then joined to its neighbouring pockets and this effect creates a unique feel.

By creating a spring unit in this way, it allows the springs to move independently, rather than sharing the pressure with surrounding springs. This effect allows for much more accurate contour following and a more comfortable feel overall.

If you were to push your hand into a traditionally sprung mattress, the area around your hand would dip/sink too. With Pocket Springs, this sunken area is much more remote and therefore more accurately follows the contours of the pressure source. There are differences in the techniques used to create Pocket Springs, but more or less they remain the same.

  • Pressure Points

Pressure Points are created in the body when lying on a mattress which is not suitable for a persons physique. The Pressure Points are caused by putting stresses through the body. When the spine is not aligned correctly (i.e, straight), it can cause pressure to build up in the back, hips or shoulders (etc).

When a bed is too soft, the body sinks in, causing certain areas to be under the strain of the rest of the body. When a mattress is too hard/firm, then the weight applied can cause the body to flex/bend in the opposite way - causing a similar problem. Hips, shoulders and so on, are requried to be sunken into the mattress slightly more than the surrounding areas, as they carry the weight. When this is not the case, the lower back may be bent to compensate. The ideal mattress is one which will keep the spine straight.

  • Turn / No Turn

Some mattresses require turning over, to aid even settlement. Others do not require turning, but will still require rotating.
