It is not only luxury where the Thames 5000 excels. 3000 pocket springs form the core of this mattress, surrounded by natural fibres. These springs are masterfully placed to give the best support possible to you as you sleep. Pocket springs are individual springs that are "pocketed" with light fabric. These springs are designed to each move independently of one another. This means that as you move your body over the mattress, each spring can react independently so that you are fully supported as you move. This reduces the feeling of "roll-off" and allows more of the mattress surface area to be used. Packed in around these springs are layer upon layer of natural fibres, including cotton, wool and silk. Not only are these fibres luxuriously soft, but they also have naturally occurring properties that benefit the sleeper. Cotton and wool are naturally breathable materials, which helps to keep the mattress temperature regulated throughout the night and wicks away excess moisture - vital to keeping you comfortable and waking up feeling refreshed.

This mattress is topped with a "Pillow Top". This extra section attached to the top of the mattress core is designed to add a layer of luxurious comfort to the Thames 5000. Beneath a soft-touch cover, layers of mohair and cashmere sit plumply, creating as soft a finish as you could ask for. Within these luscious layers of fibres sit 2000 mini-springs. These springs not only provide extra support by moulding to the contours of your body as you sleep, precisely targeting areas where you need supporting the most, but they also help to extend the lifespan of the pillow top. The soft fibres can stay softer for longer with the support of the mini springs.

This mattress is finished in a soft cover that is traditionally tufted.

No heavy lifting is required to maintain this mattress as it is a no turn and only require rotating. We recommend rotating the mattress seasonally, with increased rotation immediately after purchase. This allows for the soft, natural fibres inside the mattress to settle evenly.
