The Sleepeezee Hybrid 2000 Mattress is an incredible mix of technologies that combine to provide supreme comfort and complete support every night. A Which? Magazine Best Buy, this Sleepeezee mattress uses all of their years of expertise and the best in new mattress technology to create their best product yet!

Inside the Hybrid 2000 are two layers of pocket springs. The base layer uses 1000 SoftTech 30mm pocketed springs beneath a 50mm layer of comfort foam. These layers work to support your body as you move on the mattress, absorbing changes in weight distribution. The second layer of 1000, 10cm deep pocket springs sit above this layer and shape to the contours of your body, assisting to the support offered by the base layer and adding extra levels of comfort.

Comfort is as important as support in a mattress and Sleepeezee have spared none of it in designing this mattress. Above the layers of Springs and comfort foam sit layers of Staycool Gel, Spunbond, and high-density Polyester. These layers are not only supportive but breathable. The trademarked StayCool Gel offers pressure-sensitive support to the sleeper and helps regulate the temperature of the mattress and the sleeper too. Staycool Gel aids moisture management in the mattress, helping you to stay cool and dry overnight, as well as helping to keep the mattress free of dust mites, and bacteria.

The Sleepeezee Hybrid 2000 is Foam Encapsulated. This means that a high-density foam strip is placed inside the edges of the mattress springs. This increases edge-to-edge support and lengthens the mattress' lifespan by preventing it from sagging.

Chrome air vents are placed around the mattress to allow for better circulation and help to keep the mattress fresh and regulate temperature.

The Hybrid 2000 is a no-turn mattress but regular rotation is recommended. This mattress features flag-stitched handles to help ease turning the mattress.

The Hybrid 2000 comes with a Sleepeezee peace of mind 5-year guarantee.

Glossary

  • Pocket Sprung

Pocket Sprung units are an adaption of the traditional open coil/continuous spring unit. By placing each spring in its own individual 'pocket' (a fabric sock-like pouch), the spring is not joined to any other part of the mattress. The pocket that supports the spring is then joined to its neighbouring pockets and this effect creates a unique feel.

By creating a spring unit in this way, it allows the springs to move independently, rather than sharing the pressure with surrounding springs. This effect allows for much more accurate contour following and a more comfortable feel overall.

If you were to push your hand into a traditionally sprung mattress, the area around your hand would dip/sink too. With Pocket Springs, this sunken area is much more remote and therefore more accurately follows the contours of the pressure source. There are differences in the techniques used to create Pocket Springs, but more or less they remain the same.

  • Pressure Points

Pressure Points are created in the body when lying on a mattress which is not suitable for a persons physique. The Pressure Points are caused by putting stresses through the body. When the spine is not aligned correctly (i.e, straight), it can cause pressure to build up in the back, hips or shoulders (etc).

When a bed is too soft, the body sinks in, causing certain areas to be under the strain of the rest of the body. When a mattress is too hard/firm, then the weight applied can cause the body to flex/bend in the opposite way - causing a similar problem. Hips, shoulders and so on, are requried to be sunken into the mattress slightly more than the surrounding areas, as they carry the weight. When this is not the case, the lower back may be bent to compensate. The ideal mattress is one which will keep the spine straight.

  • Side Stitched

Side Stitching is the way in which the side of a mattress is finished. A traditional process, the Side Stitching technique applied by many high-end companies, is a highly-skilled profession and takes time and a great deal of experience to perfect. The technique involves passing a needle through the side of a mattress right the way through to the horizontal surfaces for additional strength and stability. This technique is normally the reserve of expensive, high-end mattresses.

Another technique applied more commonly in mid-range mattresses, is to simply attach the stitching to the spring unit in the mattress. Other manufacturers may simply use a material on the side of the mattress which appears to be side stitched, but actually is not.

  • Tufted

Tufting is a traditional and highly successful way of finishing a mattress surface. The end result makes the mattress appear to have dimples, or buttons dipping into the surface. This technique is designed to hold the surface materials together and to fix them to the core of the mattress to prevent the layers moving over time. A modern method is Spiral Tufting, which involves fixing the surface to the fillings and spring unit.

The actual tuft is usually made from a cotton felt material and is fastened by a cotton or wool chord to the spring unit, in most cases. A tufted mattress will normally have a firmer surface than a non-tufted/quilted surface. The reason for this is that the Tufting process actually holds the surface material and underlying fibre layers tightly together. This will create a tighter, firmer feel than a quilted mattress.
