The Vispring Mattress Pad is a practical solution designed to protect your pocket-spring mattress when used with a slatted bed base. Positioned directly between the mattress and the slats, it plays an important role in extending the lifespan of your mattress and maintaining its overall comfort. Please note; Vispring state that this pad is required if using a Vispring mattress on a slatted bedframe. Without this pad, the guarantee of the Vispring mattress may be void.

Made from natural wool, the Vispring Bedstead mattress pad provides a breathable barrier that helps protect the mattress from wear and tear over time when used on slats. It also guards against splinters and reduces friction, which can also cause unnecessary wear and tear over time. The pad attaches securely to the bed base using a system of string ties and eyelets positioned along the sides, ensuring it remains properly in place during use, whilst remaining out of sight.

To achieve the best results when using the Vispring Mattress Pad, it is recommended that slats on the bedstead should be no more than 7cm apart. This helps to support the mattress evenly and maintain the comfort levels expected from a Vispring product. If the slats are more than 7cm apart, the springs inside the mattress can get damaged over time.

It is important to note that the Vispring Wool Mattress Pad differs from a mattress protector. While the mattress pad protects the underside of the mattress from structural and environmental damage, a mattress protector shields the sleeping surface from bodily moisture or accidental spills. For complete protection, the use of both items is advised, and Vispring specifically require the use of the mattress pad when their mattresses are placed on a slatted frame.

The Vispring Mattress Pad is made in the UK and features a wool filling and cover. It is not suitable for washing or dry cleaning, and should be maintained carefully according to care instructions to ensure its longevity.
