Sleepeezee is one of the most highly regarded bed and mattress brands in the UK.
Originating in the early 1900s, they are based in Kent and are especially known for their innovative pocket sprung mattresses. They combine latest sleep technology with quality, comfort and affordability. They even have the Royal Family’s approval, securing the Royal Warrant which was issued by the Prince of Wales. Ultimately, this alone makes them a respected brand that you can truly trust and count on for a good night’s sleep.

Sleepeezee is a brand that continues to develop and grow their mattress and bed range, revolutionising the way we think and feel about sleep. They continue to perfect the formula, which often is a complicated one, so that we can experience sleep which is good for the body, and soul.

We know there are various ways in which we can improve our sleep – aromatherapy, getting more exercise, having a healthier diet and not eating too close to bed for example, and many more solutions. Of course, this will depend on what type of person you are and what works for you, but the good news is, there’s always a solution and changing your mattress might just be it! For adults, we need around 7 to 9 hours of sleep each night. This is so our brains can function normally, and we are mentally and physically sound ready for the day ahead. It’s important to know that good quality sleep is essential for brain function. Sleep helps tissue repair, our weight and builds our immune system and its functions. In return, a lack of sleep makes us more prone to infections and illnesses.

It's also imperative to understand the importance of sleep hygiene. This means to not jeopardise your sleep routine by having caffeine too close to bed, or doing anything too stimulating which can disrupt sleep. All of those things, however, do not matter if you have a mattress that is not giving you the support and comfort you and your body need. An incorrect mattress has the power to strain muscles, promote poorer posture and leave you feeling sore on days when you need to feel your best.

Sleep Tips Summed Up

Don’t consume caffeine too close to bed

Although caffeine does have some positives, it also comes with negatives - especially when it comes to sleep. Caffeine is effective in disrupting your sleep, more specifically it makes it harder for you to fall asleep. Many studies have shown that by consuming caffeine 6 hours before bedtime, it reduces total sleep time by 1 hour. Most often, these effects can be stronger in adults as it can take us longer to process caffeine. In addition, high doses of caffeine can also trigger other common side effects such as swearing, nausea, increased heart rate, muscle tremors, diarrhea and more.

-Limit caffeine consumption to no more than 3 to 4 cups of tea or coffee per day.

-Avoid caffeine from around 2pm.

Don’t participate in stimulating activities too close to bed

It's important that if you do exercise before bed, that you choose an activity wisely. At night, the best type of activity to light to moderate - this is because it can help you fall asleep faster and better, rather than the opposite where it disrupts your sleep. You should always complete your exercises 1 hour before you sleep, as your body needs time to unwind and get ready to hibernate for next 7-8 hours.

-Try stretching, walking, yoga or swimming as exercise before your bedtime.

Pay attention to your sleep environment and make changes if necessary

Light and temperature can effect the quality of our sleep. Too much light at night has the ability to shift our internal clock and disturb our sleep, and the same happens with temperature. Temperature plays a significant role in sleep, in a nutshell - melatonin is released when we sleep which helps the body lose heat. Our body temperature starts to decrease and this essentially helps speed up the process of sleep. If your bedroom environment is too cold or too warm, it disrupts the process and makes you feel uncomfortable.

-Your room temperature should be cool - experts say keep your room in a range between 60-69 degrees Fahrenheit
