Product Description

We have paired the best-selling Hypnos Elite Luxury mattress with our own non-branded divan base. This set offers supreme value for money and super quick delivery. This excellent Hypnos mattress is one of the top-selling mattresses of recent years, and we've paired it with a divan base and headboard from our supplier in Yorkshire, offering you a superb deal. This Hypnos mattress is pocket sprung, hand made, packed with natural fillings and is hugely popular.

The Hypnos Elite Luxury mattress has been introduced by Hypnos to showcase the excellent value for money their mattresses offer. This mattress has a 1200 Pocket Spring unit at its core. These springs are not like normal pocket springs or the pocket springs used by other manufacturers. The Hypnos springs are ReActive and will get firmer as more and more weight is applied. This is a very simple but effective detail that will result in excellent posture, as the areas of the body that require more support will get it instantly. This mattress has 7 different levels of firmness recognised, hence the 7 ReActive Turns.

Hypnos has applied luxury fillings to this mattress by hand. Each layer is luxuriously comfortable and is made from natural fillings, including Cotton and eOlus Soft fibres. These fillings are not only very comfortable, but they are breathable, allowing air to pass through the mattress easily, which keeps you cool and comfortable throughout the night. As this is a no-turn mattress, the fillings are applied to one side of the mattress only. The Elite Luxury mattress will require rotating (spinning around) once per season, although we strongly recommend that this is done every week for the first two months of the mattress's life to ensure even settlement.

This is a tufted mattress (the dimple-like button features on the surface), which is done by hand and will ensure an even settlement and even wear over time. The Elite Luxury has a Belgian damask cover which is durable and comfortable. There are handles and breather vents and rows of side stitching too, which increases the strength of the sidewalls, allowing you to sleep right up to the edge without fear of falling out.

The base and headboard we have added to this package deal are made by a bed make in Yorkshire that create beds of very high quality. The base is available in a range of beautiful colours as well as storage options to suit your needs too. The range of headboards are attractive, practical and are deeply padded. We deliver the Elite Luxury Package Deal to your for free, with our 2-man crew, right to the room of your choice!

Frequently Asked Questions -
8 Answers

What is the actual depth measurement of the mattress and what is the depth of the base please, please list separate.

This mattress is 28cm deep approx, and the base is 38cm deep.

Can you take away mattress and divan base?

Yes, absolutely. We deliver this bed to the room of choice for free, but disposing of your old bed may have a cost, which is shown in the basket.

Can I check the headboard is a floor standing headboard as pictured in the options and also what is the height?

Yes, they are floor standing as standard!

Is the base easy to assemble?

Yes, this divan bed is very easy to assemble. We would suggest it takes around 10mins in total. The wheels are clicked into place and then the base is simply linked together by small chrome linking bars on the sides. The headboard, if purchased, is then screwed into place with large screws. No tools are required.

Do you deliver the full bed to the bedroom?

Yes, we deliver all items to the room of choice, as standard, with our 2-person crews. This Hypnos bed is no different, and we can even unpack and assemble in the room for you, if you select this option in the checkout.

Does the bed come with a headboard ?

The headboard can be added, yes, although there is an additional charge for this.

Does the mattress and base have the same length guarantee?

No, the Hypnos mattress has a guarantee of 10-years, whereas the base and headboard have a 5-year warranty.

Where is this bed made?

The mattress is made by Hypnos, but the base and headboard are made by our suppliers in Yorkshire.

Glossary

  • Breathability

Mattresses need to breathe. With the amount of fillings and areas of space within a mattress, they can quickly hold heat and moisture. Over time this can influence the way a mattress behaves and also effect the life span of a mattress.

Manufacturers have developed different ways of tackling the problem of Breathability in mattresses. Some brands have used vents to allow air to pass through the mattress. Some brands use state-of-the-art materials to cover the mattress, such as Coolmax or Outlast. Memory Foam has a reputation of storing heat and moisture, as foam requires heat to soften up.Memory Foam brands have overcome this problem by applying Coolmax and Outlast, they also use Open Cell technology. This technique is to simply allow the foam to settle with larger spaces between the foam cells. This allows heat and moisture to move freely without getting trapped.

Some mattresses are created in such a way that they do not require any additional Breathability methods. These mattresses are generally the entry level mattresses with Open Coil spring units and not a great deal of fillings.

  • Fillings

The fillings of each mattress can differ from one another, but largely they include British Lambs Wool and Cotton. Some also feature Latex, Silk and Cashmere.

  • Guarantee (Hypnos)

The Hypnos Guarantee extends for a Decade. Your new Hypnos mattress or base will have a leaflet with more information, as well as a form to be completed and sent to Hypnos directly.

  • Orthos (Hypnos)

Orthos is Hypnos' term for Orthopaedic. Hypnos use this term for several, Medium/Firm mattresses.

  • Pocket Sprung

Pocket Sprung units are an adaption of the traditional open coil/continuous spring unit. By placing each spring in its own individual 'pocket' (a fabric sock-like pouch), the spring is not joined to any other part of the mattress. The pocket that supports the spring is then joined to its neighbouring pockets and this effect creates a unique feel.

By creating a spring unit in this way, it allows the springs to move independently, rather than sharing the pressure with surrounding springs. This effect allows for much more accurate contour following and a more comfortable feel overall.

If you were to push your hand into a traditionally sprung mattress, the area around your hand would dip/sink too. With Pocket Springs, this sunken area is much more remote and therefore more accurately follows the contours of the pressure source. There are differences in the techniques used to create Pocket Springs, but more or less they remain the same.

  • Pressure Points

Pressure Points are created in the body when lying on a mattress which is not suitable for a persons physique. The Pressure Points are caused by putting stresses through the body. When the spine is not aligned correctly (i.e, straight), it can cause pressure to build up in the back, hips or shoulders (etc).

When a bed is too soft, the body sinks in, causing certain areas to be under the strain of the rest of the body. When a mattress is too hard/firm, then the weight applied can cause the body to flex/bend in the opposite way - causing a similar problem. Hips, shoulders and so on, are requried to be sunken into the mattress slightly more than the surrounding areas, as they carry the weight. When this is not the case, the lower back may be bent to compensate. The ideal mattress is one which will keep the spine straight.

  • Turn / No Turn

Some mattresses require turning over, to aid even settlement. Others do not require turning, but will still require rotating.
