Product Description
The Hypnos Legacy Origins IV (4) mattress is a premium offering that marries traditional craftsmanship with the latest in sleep technology, providing a luxurious sleep experience. Hypnos' Legacy Origins Collection was not only created to showcase the supreme quality that their mattresses offer but also the sustainability. Their legacy will be more than just the great sleep you benefit from when using a Hypnos mattress, they are pioneering much of the sustainability advancements in the bed industry.
At the heart of this mattress is the innovative ReActivePro™ 9-Turn Pocket Spring System. Each spring, with its nine turns, is precision-engineered to offer exceptional support by independently sensing and adapting to the specific comfort and support needs of each sleeper. This ensures a personalised sleep experience, minimising pressure points and maximising comfort. The inclusion of Triple Edge Protection™ enhances the durability and support across the entire surface, preventing edge sag and extending the usable sleep area right to the mattress edge.
The benefits of pocket springs, such as those found in the Hypnos Legacy Origins IV mattress, include superior support and comfort. Each spring operates independently, ensuring that weight is evenly distributed, reducing the transfer of movement between partners, and providing targeted support that adapts to the body's contours. This results in restful sleep without the disturbances from partner movement, and a supportive foundation that caters to various sleeping positions, enhancing the overall sleep quality.
Complementing the advanced spring system, the mattress is filled with natural wool, providing a soft, cushioned feel. Wool is renowned for its comfort and breathability, making it an ideal choice for those seeking a mattress that is both comfortable and made from natural materials. The deep layers of wool are applied by hand to ensure that they are perfectly placed. This Hypno mattress is then hand tufted to ensure that the fillings do not move, over time, and also to ensure that the mattress maintains a precise firmness.
Designed with orthopaedic support on offer, this mattress caters to those requiring good support for their back and joints, aiding in alignment and reducing discomfort. Available in a choice of medium or firm tension to suit your preference, the Legacy Origins IV mattress provides the perfect balance between comfort and support - instantly. The presence of air vents incorporated into the design facilitates airflow within the mattress, ensuring it remains fresh, cool, and conducive to a healthy sleep environment throughout the night.
One of the standout features of the Hypnos Legacy Origins IV mattress is its ability to prevent roll-together. Thanks to its individual pocket springs, movements from one sleeper do not disturb the other, making it ideal for couples.
For those concerned with allergens, this mattress is hypoallergenic, offering a safe and comfortable sleep environment free from common allergens. The mattress is double-sided, with luxurious fillings on both sides, necessitating regular turning and rotating to maintain its comfort and longevity. The hand-tufted construction secures the fillings, ensuring the mattress retains its shape and support over time. The Legacy Origins IV mattress is equipped with turning handles, making it easy to move when required.
Extra features that set this mattress apart include a breathable woven damask cover, hand-side-stitched borders for enhanced edge support, and the assurance of being made by an NBF-Approved Manufacturer in the UK. Furthermore, it meets the BS7177: 2008 standard for fire resistance in domestic settings, offering peace of mind regarding safety. The depth of the mattress stands at an impressive 30cm, offering a plush and inviting surface that beckons for a restful night's sleep.

Glossary
- Breathability
Mattresses need to breathe. With the amount of fillings and areas of space within a mattress, they can quickly hold heat and moisture. Over time this can influence the way a mattress behaves and also effect the life span of a mattress.
Manufacturers have developed different ways of tackling the problem of Breathability in mattresses. Some brands have used vents to allow air to pass through the mattress. Some brands use state-of-the-art materials to cover the mattress, such as Coolmax or Outlast. Memory Foam has a reputation of storing heat and moisture, as foam requires heat to soften up.Memory Foam brands have overcome this problem by applying Coolmax and Outlast, they also use Open Cell technology. This technique is to simply allow the foam to settle with larger spaces between the foam cells. This allows heat and moisture to move freely without getting trapped.
Some mattresses are created in such a way that they do not require any additional Breathability methods. These mattresses are generally the entry level mattresses with Open Coil spring units and not a great deal of fillings. - Fibre Most mattresses will have layers of fillings under the surface to increase comfort and separate the spring units from the surface. The most common fillings used in mattresses are cotton, wool and polyester among others. Mattresses require fillings to create a soft surface tension on which to sleep. The fillings normally compliment the internal spring unit by adding comfort to the support offered (by the spring unit) The tension of the surface fillings can be tuned by the density in which they are packed as well as by the method in which they are bound together. Tufting results in a slightly firmer feel than quilting.
- Fillings
The fillings of each mattress can differ from one another, but largely they include British Lambs Wool and Cotton. Some also feature Latex, Silk and Cashmere.
- Firmness
MyNextMattress is developing a new and unique solution to the Firmness scale accuracy. Not seen anywhere else in the World, we will be measuring the Firmness of all our mattresses precisely and in detail.
We are the only company in the Country that will actually measure the Firmness of a mattress and give a grading out of 10. We are always aware that choosing your next mattress can be a difficult and time consuming process, therefore we strive to give as much information as possible on every mattress we sell.
The way our system works is by applying weight to a mattress. We will apply weight gradually and measure the amount the mattress dips. The more weight, the more the mattress will 'sink'. We would then measure the distance the mattress dips and plot these measurements (weight and distance) on a graph. This graph can then be used to tell us the Firmness category the mattress fits into, 7 out of 10 for instance.
Our Firmness Device provides a central rod which we apply weights to, on the bottom end there is a disc which pushes into the mattress. The top of this rod supports the weights and will sink according to the 'give' in a mattress. We measure from this point.
As a result of this unique technique, it will be possible for you to shop by the firmness of a mattress, this is not possible anywhere else. - Hypoallergenic
Put simply, Hypoallergenic materials do not cause the amount of irritation that non-hypoallergenic materials can. Hypoallergenic materials can still cause irritation in some cases, the chances of this are reduced greatly. People with severe allergies and asthma may still have problems with items called hypoallergenic, but the risk is greatly reduced.
Hypoallergenic materials do not omit the same particles and fibres as other non-hypoallergenic materials. These particles are to blame for causing irritation and discomfort and in some cases the irritation can be dangerous. The Hypoallergenic properties of these materials can be created by number of techniques. Some materials (Memory Foam or Latex) are naturally hypoallergenic, others have been chemically treated. - Pocket Sprung
Pocket Sprung units are an adaption of the traditional open coil/continuous spring unit. By placing each spring in its own individual 'pocket' (a fabric sock-like pouch), the spring is not joined to any other part of the mattress. The pocket that supports the spring is then joined to its neighbouring pockets and this effect creates a unique feel.
By creating a spring unit in this way, it allows the springs to move independently, rather than sharing the pressure with surrounding springs. This effect allows for much more accurate contour following and a more comfortable feel overall.
If you were to push your hand into a traditionally sprung mattress, the area around your hand would dip/sink too. With Pocket Springs, this sunken area is much more remote and therefore more accurately follows the contours of the pressure source. There are differences in the techniques used to create Pocket Springs, but more or less they remain the same. - Tension
Another word for Firmness.
- Tufted
Tufting is a traditional and highly successful way of finishing a mattress surface. The end result makes the mattress appear to have dimples, or buttons dipping into the surface. This technique is designed to hold the surface materials together and to fix them to the core of the mattress to prevent the layers moving over time. A modern method is Spiral Tufting, which involves fixing the surface to the fillings and spring unit.
The actual tuft is usually made from a cotton felt material and is fastened by a cotton or wool chord to the spring unit, in most cases. A tufted mattress will normally have a firmer surface than a non-tufted/quilted surface. The reason for this is that the Tufting process actually holds the surface material and underlying fibre layers tightly together. This will create a tighter, firmer feel than a quilted mattress.
