The Pillow Comfort Larimar is a soft to medium comfort mattress, with a wonderfully soft and comfortable top layer (the pillow top), which is not removable, blending perfectly with the supportive springs at this mattress' core. Hypnos has added layers of natural, luxury fillings by hand to ensure a deep and even sleeping surface. Those layers include New Zealand Wool, soft Cotton and a 33mm deep layer of Latex. The combination of the fillings is simply incredible. As well as being natural and supremely comfortable, the fillings are all also breathable, so the mattress will remain cool, fresh and very comfortable, night after night.

The Hypnos Pillow Comfort Larimar mattress is built around the excellent ReActive 8 Spring System. These springs are an evolution of the standard pocket spring. A normal pocket spring is very supportive, moving like a piston as weight is applied, allowing it to accurately and instantly conform to the body's contours as you move whilst sleeping. Each pocket spring is independent to it's surrounding springs, this means any compressed spring will not interfere with its neighbours, further enhancing the precision of the support offered.
However; a Hypnos ReActive spring will actually get more supportive as more weight is applied! This very clever yet simple evolution of the standard pocket spring means that the areas of the body that put the most weight into the mattress (hips, shoulders typically) actually have a firmer level of support and therefore good posture is maintained at all times, keeping your spine in the optimum position. There are various standards of ReActive spring, the Pillow Comfort Larimar has an 8-Turn spring, meaning it recognises 8 different levels of firmness. This feature may go undetected at first, but over the course of weeks and months, the body's posture is improved and pressure points are prevented, resulting in the avoidance of aches and pains in the morning.

Hypnos has tufted this Pillow Comfort mattress by hand, this is a skilled and traditional practice that binds the fillings in place, preventing movement and ensuring the mattress is comfortable in years to come. The side walls are also stitched in 3 rows, which increases the strength of the sides but also increases the size of the comfortable sleeping surface by up to 15%, as you can sleep right up to the edge without it dipping away.

The cover material of the new Pillow Comfort mattresses are also very clever. As well as being silky smooth, soft and very, very tactile, they are infused with mineral particles that act as a thermostat to ensure the bed remains at a comfortable temperature at all times. This technology is called 37.5® active technology and is so-called because that's the temperature it aims for, the body's most comfortable 'eco-climate'. When you're too warm, it will draw away any excess heat. Too cold? It will return the heat and keep you comfortable. These mineral particles are microscopic and cannot be felt in any way.

This is a no-turn mattress, only needing rotation once per season (although we suggest this is done more often in the first months after delivery). There are handles for easy movement and also breather vents to further allow for heat management, as the air can move through the mattress.
