    Product Description

    Hypnos is one of the finest bed manufacturers in the World, and their famed attention to detail, quality of craftsmanship and materials, has seen their reputation grow year on year.     The divan base is an important part of the bed, and Hypnos make the very best bases. The quality of the base is exceptional. From the appearance and choice of fabrics to the details you never see - the dovetail joints, the reinforced frame and the solid castors. A Hypnos bed base will be among the very finest pieces of furniture in any house.

    There is a wide range of colours to choose from, also a choice of Drawer configuration. But perhaps the most important option is to have a Solid Top base or a Sprung Base. The difference is a layer of springs on the surface of the base, designed to offer an additional element of comfort and to soften the overall feel of the bed very slightly. This is the recommended option for some mattresses, but not for the firmer feeling mattress collections.

    Drawer details:
    Each drawer can handle a maximum of 20kg. The drawers are meant for bedding and alike.
    The drawers are 76cm x 51cm and 17cm deep. 
    A Continental (smaller drawer) is 51cm x 51cm x 17cm.

    The divan base is able to handle a maximum weight of 18 stone per sleeping position.

    Headboard Sold Separately.

    Please note; that we do not recommend the standard castor wheels for wooden floors, instead, we recommend gliders or locking wheels. Please get in touch if you have any questions regarding this.

    I am interested in the double divan with two full size drawers on each side, please could you advise how the two base sections are secured together?

    This Hypnos bed base is joined together with hidden linking bars, which are fitted under the base between the wheels.

    If we order a divan with drawers how much less spring support do you get compared to a sprung divan base only?

    The drawers have no effect on the support or strength of the Hypnos Divan Base. The base is made from a strong wooden structure, which the drawers are then fitted inside of. This frame is the same for all types of bases and the 'options' (drawers, sprung or solid top) are fitted into the frame.

    On a Hypnos single divan base with 2 drawers which side will the drawers be left or right?

    The drawers on a Hypnos bed base can be either side, as you can fit the headboard to either end of the base. Therefore, if you want the drawers on the left side, you fit the headboard to one end. If you want the drawers on the other, then you fit the headboard to the opposite side.

    can you purchase a matching long /floor standing headboard?

    Yes, the Hypnos headboards all match up completely and can be chosen at the same time from the headboards page on our website.

    Is there a sleep trial when buying a Hypnos bed online?

    No, we do not offer a sleep trial on the bed bases, only on the mattresses on our website.

    Do you take the whole bed to the room of our choice? Upstairs?

    Yes, all our deliveries are to the room of choice. We can also offer to unpack and assemble too, which is an option in the checkout.

    How much weight can the Hypnos Divan Base hold in each drawer? What are the dimensions of each drawer? I'm going for the 2 full length drawer option. What is the maximum weight the Kingsize divan can hold mattress and person/s?

    Can you recycle my old Hypnos base please?

    Yes, we can recycle the old bed base when we deliver the new Hypnos Divan Base for you. If it is a bedstead / bedframe we are to collect, it must be dismantled ahead of the drivers arrival.

    We purchased a Hypnos Aspen Supreme Kingsize firm mattress from you in 2018 and are now looking at a Hypnos Divan base to go with it to provide a little "softer" comfort. Looking at the Hypnos divan base with a sprung edge top and would like to know if these are Open Coil or Pocket springs ? Is there much of a difference if there is an option in the springing ? Thanks

    Is the base always split in half across the bed, not down the bed? Thanks.

    Not always. A Small Single or Single base will be one unit. The Small Double, Double, and Kingsize will be split across the bed (East to West), whereas a Super Kingsize will be split down the bed (North to South).

    Do you deliver to Northern Ireland and if so is there an additional cost. I know it states delivery to the UK but I’m not sure if that is mainland uk only. Regards Allison

    What is the height of the Hypnos divan base Euro King size?

    The height of a Hypnos Divan Base (including castors) is 38cm. This applies to all sizes.
