Product Description

The Nightfall Natural 3500 Gold mattress is one of the best examples of a luxury mattress we have to offer. This stunning mattress boasts over 3500 Pocket Springs and deep, deep layers of luxurious natural fillings, which include Cashmere, Silk, Wool and Cotton. This stunning pillow top mattress is incredibly luxurious and is hand made to the very highest standards.

The Natural 3500 Gold has a superb Pocket Spring unit at its core, 3500 springs all working independently to provide superb support, exactly when and where it is required. These springs all move like pistons, up and down as body weight is applied. As each spring is set within its own fabric 'pocket', the springs cannot interfere with their surrounding springs when they're moving, which means there is no compromise in the support offered. As the springs move, they conform to the contours of the body and promote good posture, reducing painful pressure points from forming. These springs also support the body more where it needs it more, most commonly the lumbar and shoulder regions.

Nightfall has hand-applied layers of wonderfully soft and luxurious natural fillings to this top of the range mattress. Each layer is as luxurious as the layer around it and all work in harmony with one another as well as the springs, to provide a truly comfortable and luxurious night's sleep. The layers used in this mattress are very deep. Cashmere, Silk, Wool and Cotton all provide a sumptuous feel that will make it hard to get out of bed in the morning. These layers are completely natural and are also breathable, allowing air to move freely through the mattress, keeping it cool and comfortable at all times. Not only that, but the fillings are thermoregulating, so they are able to remain cool in the summer and warm in the winter.

This is a tufted mattress, hence the dimple-like features on the top. These tufts are the result of cords being passed through the mattress to bind the fillings in place, preventing them from moving around, as well as ensuring the mattress retains a consistent finish right the way across the surface. The Natural 3500 is finished in a soft, luxurious and tactile cover material that is as comfortable as it is attractive. This Belgian damask material is very durable and very tactile. Its silky smooth finish is the final flourish of luxury for this stunning mattress.

Nightfall has finished the Natural 3500 Gold off with handles on the sides for easy movement when required. Although this is a no-turn mattress, it will still require rotation once per season (although we recommend this is done more often in the first few weeks and months after delivery). There are also breather vents on the sides to further aid heat and moisture management.

Glossary

  • Cashmere

A luxury filling, Cashmere Wool is normally the reserve of very high quality mattresses. A natural material that is very comfortable and very durable.

  • Fibre Most mattresses will have layers of fillings under the surface to increase comfort and separate the spring units from the surface. The most common fillings used in mattresses are cotton, wool and polyester among others. Mattresses require fillings to create a soft surface tension on which to sleep. The fillings normally compliment the internal spring unit by adding comfort to the support offered (by the spring unit) The tension of the surface fillings can be tuned by the density in which they are packed as well as by the method in which they are bound together. Tufting results in a slightly firmer feel than quilting.
  • Firmness

MyNextMattress is developing a new and unique solution to the Firmness scale accuracy. Not seen anywhere else in the World, we will be measuring the Firmness of all our mattresses precisely and in detail.

We are the only company in the Country that will actually measure the Firmness of a mattress and give a grading out of 10. We are always aware that choosing your next mattress can be a difficult and time consuming process, therefore we strive to give as much information as possible on every mattress we sell.

The way our system works is by applying weight to a mattress. We will apply weight gradually and measure the amount the mattress dips. The more weight, the more the mattress will 'sink'. We would then measure the distance the mattress dips and plot these measurements (weight and distance) on a graph. This graph can then be used to tell us the Firmness category the mattress fits into, 7 out of 10 for instance.

Our Firmness Device provides a central rod which we apply weights to, on the bottom end there is a disc which pushes into the mattress. The top of this rod supports the weights and will sink according to the 'give' in a mattress. We measure from this point.

As a result of this unique technique, it will be possible for you to shop by the firmness of a mattress, this is not possible anywhere else.

  • Pillow Top

A pillow top mattress is a relatively new development in the bedding industry. Originally the technique applied to the more expensive mattresses, the technique has been perfected to such an extent that the prices have fallen the Pillow Top is much more widely available. Known as the Euro Top by American retailers, the design was originally on the wider market a few years ago, and is now a common site in bedrooms around the World. The idea is to separate the surface fillings from the core of the mattress itself. This results in more support and more comfort. Many traditional mattresses fasten the surface fillings to the spring unit in the mattress. A Pillow Top mattress has a distinct separate layer for the fillings and therefore reacts independently to the spring unit, resulting in less dipping and a solid feel. The technique also offers greater edge-to-edge support.

Pillow tops can take many forms nowadays. A deep layer on the surface which contains memory foam. Another technique of Pillow Top mattress is the Silentnight Treasure mattress. A shallower, quilt like style. All in all, this type of mattress is continuing to go from strength to strength and would appear to be here to stay.

  • Pocket Sprung

Pocket Sprung units are an adaption of the traditional open coil/continuous spring unit. By placing each spring in its own individual 'pocket' (a fabric sock-like pouch), the spring is not joined to any other part of the mattress. The pocket that supports the spring is then joined to its neighbouring pockets and this effect creates a unique feel.

By creating a spring unit in this way, it allows the springs to move independently, rather than sharing the pressure with surrounding springs. This effect allows for much more accurate contour following and a more comfortable feel overall.

If you were to push your hand into a traditionally sprung mattress, the area around your hand would dip/sink too. With Pocket Springs, this sunken area is much more remote and therefore more accurately follows the contours of the pressure source. There are differences in the techniques used to create Pocket Springs, but more or less they remain the same.

  • Pressure Points

Pressure Points are created in the body when lying on a mattress which is not suitable for a persons physique. The Pressure Points are caused by putting stresses through the body. When the spine is not aligned correctly (i.e, straight), it can cause pressure to build up in the back, hips or shoulders (etc).

When a bed is too soft, the body sinks in, causing certain areas to be under the strain of the rest of the body. When a mattress is too hard/firm, then the weight applied can cause the body to flex/bend in the opposite way - causing a similar problem. Hips, shoulders and so on, are requried to be sunken into the mattress slightly more than the surrounding areas, as they carry the weight. When this is not the case, the lower back may be bent to compensate. The ideal mattress is one which will keep the spine straight.

  • Tufted

Tufting is a traditional and highly successful way of finishing a mattress surface. The end result makes the mattress appear to have dimples, or buttons dipping into the surface. This technique is designed to hold the surface materials together and to fix them to the core of the mattress to prevent the layers moving over time. A modern method is Spiral Tufting, which involves fixing the surface to the fillings and spring unit.

The actual tuft is usually made from a cotton felt material and is fastened by a cotton or wool chord to the spring unit, in most cases. A tufted mattress will normally have a firmer surface than a non-tufted/quilted surface. The reason for this is that the Tufting process actually holds the surface material and underlying fibre layers tightly together. This will create a tighter, firmer feel than a quilted mattress.

  • Turn / No Turn

Some mattresses require turning over, to aid even settlement. Others do not require turning, but will still require rotating.
