Product Description

The Sealy Webber mattress is part of the Elevate Ultra Collection, the top-of-the-range collection of mattresses from Sealy. This mattress is the firmer of the mattresses in this collection and is among our most popular firmer-feeling mattresses. With the excellent AlignSupport spring system, layers of luxury foam and a 7-year guarantee - its easy to see why the Webber is one of our favourite mattresses.

Sealy has used the AlignSupport spring system in the core of this mattress. This spring system is designed to offer excellent support without compromising on comfort.  The springs that Sealy has developed over the years will provide support that few others can. The aim is to encourage the same posture at night as you have when standing during the day, which is the correct posture and will prevent pressure points from forming overnight, the cause of aches and pains. The springs will also move and adapt as you move, maintaining the posture and support you need.

On top of the springs in this mattress is a superb combination of three layers of high-quality foam. Sealy has started with the "Firm & Extra Firm Premium Foam". This deep layer will slowly move to adapt to your body shape in the night, working in harmony with the springs underneath and providing further support. The middle layer of foam in the Webber mattress is "InfiniLux High Resilience Foam", providing a perfect blend between comfort and support. This layer is slightly softer than the layer underneath. The top layer of foam is MemorySense ComfortCore, which is soft and will provide comfort to the mattress.

This is a smooth surface, quilted mattress, which adds another level of luxury. The cover material is as soft and tactile as it is durable, also boasting SmarTex, which will ensure heat and moisture is drawn away, keeping you cool and comfortable throughout the night. As well as this, Sealy has infused the Webber mattress with ProShield, which will actively keep allergens away, a process which has been endorsed by Allergy UK.

This is a no-turn mattress but will require rotation (spinning around) once per season. We recommend that this process is done every 10-14 days after delivery for the first month or so, ensuring even settlement.

    Deep and heavy
It is a good mattress but be prepared for a deep mattress that might not fit some beds.

    Great quality and comfort
We opted for one of the more expensive models which was a bit of a reason to be worried. Having never tried it, we were concerned it was not quite right. Need not have worried though as it is a lovely bed and we are thrilled to bts. Thank you Sealy.

    Very well made
The Sealy Webber Elevate Ultra Mattress is very well-made and very comfortable. It is quite deep, which we had not realised prior to purchase, but we are very happy with this nonetheless.

Glossary

  • Fibre Most mattresses will have layers of fillings under the surface to increase comfort and separate the spring units from the surface. The most common fillings used in mattresses are cotton, wool and polyester among others. Mattresses require fillings to create a soft surface tension on which to sleep. The fillings normally compliment the internal spring unit by adding comfort to the support offered (by the spring unit) The tension of the surface fillings can be tuned by the density in which they are packed as well as by the method in which they are bound together. Tufting results in a slightly firmer feel than quilting.
  • Firmness

MyNextMattress is developing a new and unique solution to the Firmness scale accuracy. Not seen anywhere else in the World, we will be measuring the Firmness of all our mattresses precisely and in detail.

We are the only company in the Country that will actually measure the Firmness of a mattress and give a grading out of 10. We are always aware that choosing your next mattress can be a difficult and time consuming process, therefore we strive to give as much information as possible on every mattress we sell.

The way our system works is by applying weight to a mattress. We will apply weight gradually and measure the amount the mattress dips. The more weight, the more the mattress will 'sink'. We would then measure the distance the mattress dips and plot these measurements (weight and distance) on a graph. This graph can then be used to tell us the Firmness category the mattress fits into, 7 out of 10 for instance.

Our Firmness Device provides a central rod which we apply weights to, on the bottom end there is a disc which pushes into the mattress. The top of this rod supports the weights and will sink according to the 'give' in a mattress. We measure from this point.

As a result of this unique technique, it will be possible for you to shop by the firmness of a mattress, this is not possible anywhere else.

  • Orthopaedic

Orthopaedic mattresses are usually the firmest mattresses on the market. A common mistake made by those with back pain, is to assume that a firm Orthopaedic mattress will be the solution. Personal comfort and a correct diagnosis of the cause of the pain should always be saught before purchasing an Orthopaedic mattress.

Many brands have 'Ortho' mattresses. Terms used include 'Backcare' or 'Orthocare' and the theme is generally to produce a firmer feeling mattress. The idea is to create a mattress that the body can rest on without sinking in and bending the spine, causing pressure to build up. However, if a lighter person lays on a firmer mattress, they will find the spine will not align correctly as the loaded parts of the body (shoulders, hips etc) are not sitting correctly. For more information on the causes of back pain, click here or read about another solution in the Zoning description.

  • Pressure Points

Pressure Points are created in the body when lying on a mattress which is not suitable for a persons physique. The Pressure Points are caused by putting stresses through the body. When the spine is not aligned correctly (i.e, straight), it can cause pressure to build up in the back, hips or shoulders (etc).

When a bed is too soft, the body sinks in, causing certain areas to be under the strain of the rest of the body. When a mattress is too hard/firm, then the weight applied can cause the body to flex/bend in the opposite way - causing a similar problem. Hips, shoulders and so on, are requried to be sunken into the mattress slightly more than the surrounding areas, as they carry the weight. When this is not the case, the lower back may be bent to compensate. The ideal mattress is one which will keep the spine straight.
