The Vispring Bedstead Realm mattress is a hugely popular mattress, not only for those who have a bedstead. Whilst this mattress is designed with a slatted base in mind, it can be used on any form of base including Ottomans and divan bases. The additional wool layer within the mattress ensures that the springs are fully supported when used with a slatted bed frame, but this mattress is equally at home on other types of surface. It is worth noting that the Bedstead Realm (and all sprung mattresses) are not intended for use on slatted bases where the slats are more than 7.5cm apart from each other.

This mattress is available in a choice of three firmness levels, Soft, Medium and Firm. Whilst Vispring does have a guideline as to the intended user (Soft up to 11 stone (70kg), Medium up to 16 stone (102kg) and Firm up to 20 stone (127kg)), ultimately, the selection is down to the user and your own personal preference, as a Vispring mattress will offer comfort and support unlike any other. Designed to be more luxurious than some other brands, a Vispring mattress will feel relatively soft compared to other first-class mattresses, but we are on hand to assist with any questions and to offer any advice you need. The Vispring Realm mattress has been filled with natural fillings. Applied by hand, these fillings are deep and even and are as durable as they are luxurious. The Bedstead Realm mattress will provide a wonderfully sumptuous feeling unlike anything offered by other brands, akin to cloud-like comfort coupled with posture-enhancing support. The deep layers of natural fillings include British wool fleeces from fully sustainable sources, cotton and bamboo. These fillings are not only natural but are also fully breathable and excellent at maintaining a comfortable temperature throughout the night. These fillings are also excellent at deterring bed bugs and dust mites, wool in particular. 

Upholstered with a wool spring protector pad, this mattress has been designed specifically for use with slatted bedsteads. As well as this support pad, the Vispring Bedstead mattress has 1350gsm bonded British fleece wool and cotton, overlaid with 300gsm British fleece wool, 200gsm bamboo and finally 900gsm of blended British fleece wool and cotton.

Vispring has tufted this mattress to help achieve a precise tension as well as ensuring the durability of the mattress. There are two rows of side stitched borders for additional sidewall support. As a turnable mattress, Vispring has equipped the Bedstead Realm with handles to aid movement when needed. This mattress will require turning and rotation once per season, alternating between the two - we recommend that this process is done fortnightly for the first two months to aid even settlement.
