This mattress is built around a 1000 Pocket Spring unit, which is designed to offer support and comfort without compromise. This spring unit boasts 1000 springs (in a Kingsize). Each spring is fixed in it's own pocket, and moves up and down as weight is applied, completely independent of it's surrounding springs, which results in a very accurate level of support. This technique greatly reduces aches and pains in the mornings.

Shakespeare have applied a deep layer of natural fillings to this mattress, which comprise mainly of Wool and Cotton. This layer is applied by hand, ensuring an even and comfortable distribution. The surface layer is bound in place through the hand tufting process (the dimples on the surface), which makes sure the surface does not move around or distort, and also binds the surface layers to the spring unit within, increasing the overall durability and strength of the mattress.

The Chester 1000 mattress has handles on each side for easy movement when required, as well as air vents to allow the air to move freely through, further enhancing the comfort and durability of this great mattress.
